BFP...then spotting..am i out??--Updated at bottom going for beta

Hello,

I am 11dpiu (the second one) and I tested faint BFP's from clearblue and FRER today (and tested out the trigger).

Now, I just started some light pink spotting and I am crampy. I had a chemical pregnancy a year ago, so I am afraid it is happening all over again.


Is it too late for implantation spotting since I already got a very light BFP? Maybe they were false positives.

Any advice would be appreciated.

I hope thats not the case but that does happen often with chemicals. But also many women have spotting throughout PG no problem. If you are a POAS addict just look to see if the line is getting darker.

Well, so far it hasn't developed into anything.

Is it possible to have IB after a positive hpt?

I'm definately taking another test tomorrow am.

No. After IUI, they never took any bloodwork. I don't want to call and say that I have some spotting and BFP, because they'll say that I should not have tested and that if it was positive that it could be the trigger still.

I wouldn't worry just yet. From what I understand cramping and spotting can be very common in the first trimester. You should call your dr. though and have a beta done.

I'm not supposed to have a beta until Saturday.

So far, the spotting is down to just about nothing. When I wipe there is sometimes a tiny bit of very like pink/brown/yellowish (sorry TMI), but I did see a little red dot, too.

It could definitely be the egg burrowing deeper into the lining. You are not necessarily out yet.

Congratulations!
It's probably implantation bleeding, however I would call your doctor and explain what is happening. Also try to relax as much as possible.

I got another very very faint BFP this morning with Clearblue and the FRER was very very faint, too. But I am afraid that these might be false positives or evaps since they are so faint.

As for the spotting, it is now just a few spots of brown CM. Is this okay?

I'm hoping this is from implantation and that's why I am not getting a really good BFP.

No advice, but please keep us posted.

BTW, my doctor ALWAYS puts me on progesterone following an IUI and does a serum progesterone 1 week after IUI and does the progesterone/beta 2 weeks after. If I were you I'd be asking for these things.

It still hasn't come on yet, but I did have some red when I wiped, so I think it is inevitable.

Does anyone else go to LI-IVF? Do they put you on progesterone supp after an IUI? I don't know why they wouldn't and I will ask them.

Now I am starting to doubt that I even got a BFP. Maybe it was just an evap line that I was hoping was a real positive.

I really think you should call your dr and have a beta done. I'm sure that there have been plenty of people before you that tested and got a BFP before beta and requested another beta sooner than they were scheduled for it. I also agree about the progesterone...you should really ask your dr for it. Good Luck!

Thanks. If it wasn't for the chemical pregnancy that I had last year, I would probably be more optimistic, but there is a small part of me that is holding out some hope.

If I get another BFP, I'm going to call.

Unless AF shows up full force you are not out...I do understand about the chemical, though, since I've had the same thing happen.
As far as progesterone supplements, I've never had them with an IUI - I think it's common with IVF, not IUI.
I also go to LI-IVF, but I am doing IVF so I'm not sure what their exact protocol is for IUI, I went to RSNY for my IUI's.

I am taking your advice and showing up for a beta today. It's been 2 weeks since the first IUI and 2 days ago, the nurse called to tell me I had to come in for bloodwork (related to metformim Rx renewal). I was going to hold off until tomorrow's beta, but it seems like a perfect excuse to go today.

Woke up this am with more red/brown when I wipe, not AF in full force, but it is probably on its way. FRER test was negative. When I took it out of the case, I thought I saw a faint line, but that could have been an evap.

I don't think I am pg, but if there is even a chance that I am and all I need is some progesterone support, then it is worth it. After going through an early miscarriage (chemical), I just want to be sure that I did everything I could. If it's not meant to be, then I'll just move on to the next cycle.
