With or Without Curtains? (pics)
I really wanted to try and warm the room up a bit because of the high ceilings.
Do you like the curtains or no?
TIA
I can't decide and DH is useless with this stuff. Image Attachment(s):

Re: With or Without Curtains? (pics)
I think I like it without. I don't have curtains up on mine... and the reason is because I have really nice molding (similar to yours) and I feel like it gets lost under the curtains.

I say with but with different curtains. Those are cheers. You would need heavier curtains.

I was undecided...I was ready to say without, but DH was in the room so I asked his opinion , he says "Curtains, but not those curtains."

Re: With or Without Curtains? (pics)
I like it both ways, but I think with the curtains creates a softer look....perhaps a lighter color curtain would be better so it doesn't scream "look at this curtain"!!

I like it without it. The natural wood around the window offers more light in too to soften the room colors.

Re: With or Without Curtains? (pics)
I say with....but think you need a "heavier" curtain. Maybe something with a very light pattern in an orangy/red color????

I think you need a heavier curtain. The sheers don't look right to me. I prefer curtains on windows, I feel it dresses them up a bit.

Re: With or Without Curtains? (pics)
I like curtains. However, I am not a "red" person. If it were my house, I would probably go with just curtain valances on those windows.

Re: With or Without Curtains? (pics)
I voted with and I agree not those. You have really nice windows and very nice window molding, so I would just put a nice topper/valence on each window.

I agree completely. A valance would look better.

I think a valance or a cornice (sp?) board would look nicer.

I agree. Maybe curtains that are more solid (not as translucent)
Good luck!

Re: With or Without Curtains? (pics)
I would do curtains, different ones but raise them above the molding. Your molding is beautiful but the higher the curtain rod, the more noticeable the high ceilings, which are SOO beautiful! I would maybe change the blinds/shades as well to warm up the room to either a wood blind, either in white or mahogony with a colored drapery.

Same here! Maybe if you went with just a scarf so there is some sort of window covering with the shade but it's not over powering the window or covering your moulding.
