Please, just go away...
The old owner of our house comes back all the time to see if she has any left over mail and likes to chat. She told me that she would pick up the poll to the basketball hoop that we've been storing this week. Today, my dh and I come home from shopping and we see these guys putting stuff in their flatbed truck, including the basketball poll and they drive off just as my dh was going to talk to them. I yell to my dh to go check out the back and see what they took. He runs in the back and sees that the took a fertilizer seeder and a shovel. He gets on the phone with the lady who owned this house and starts yelling at her. He told her that if anyone comes on this property again he's going to have them arrested for tresspassing. She told us that she's returning our things tomorrow.
Omg..the nerve of these people!! They went into our shed and took our things!!

Put a lock on the shed!!! I hope you changed all of your locks. It sounds like some people are having a hard time letting go and looking for any reason to come back.  Sorry that you are dealing with that!

i totally agree. there should be money left in escrow and your attorney can threaten theirs in re: to awarding you $$$ for the items that they took.
eta: if the basketball pole was not an exclusion in the contract, you can definetly fight it. verbal agreements are null and void. she is also breaking the law by trespassing.

Change your locks! The FIRST thing DH and I did after we closed was go straight to Home Depot and buy new ones for EVERY door imaginable!!! I'm so sorry to hear that you're dealing with this!

We closed on the 20th of December. It was in the contract that she take the basketball poll...we didn't have a problem with that. But she sent strange men over to our house and took extra crap that wasn't agreed on!!!
If that stuff is not returned by tomorrow, we're calling the cops.

and call your attorney too and tell him/her to call her attorney! she has to know that she cant do stuff like that! so sorry this is happening...keep us posted!

Definitely got some nerve !!!
I will be pretty upset too.
It's ok she takes what belongs to her but they should have waited until there was someone home and not trespass......If I were you, I'd change the locks of the front and back of your home..

That so is not right, or legal! That is your property, not her's and you have every recourse to contact your lawyer to let him/her know, and to call the authorities on her.
