Front Loading washers and pedestals
I just purchased the LG 2277hw washer and matching dryer. I can't wait for them to come.
My question is...those that have front loaders, did you get the pedestals???
My husband said it was a waste but now I am rethinking it. I found the pedestal on ebay cheap but only in black we are getting white...does that make a difference???

Re: Front Loading washers and pedestals
I got the Duet and wound up getting the pedestal's (there was a sale of buy 1, get 1 free) and am so happy that I did! It's nice to not have to bend down so far.

Re: Front Loading washers and pedestals
We have that same washer/dryer and didn't get the pedastals. It wasn't worth the money for me to not have to bend down a few inches.

my parents put theirs on a few cinder blocks - yeah its not as nice as a pedestal, but it serves the same function and is a lot cheaper!

I have the Duet and do not have the pedestals. I don't mind bending.

I got the pedestals. IMO, worth it and they provide extra hidden storage. then again my machines are out in the open. Image Attachment(s):

Re: Front Loading washers and pedestals
We have the Kenmore front loaders and we didn't get the pedastal because we have them stacked so there wasn't height enough in the room. The washer is a pain in my back to lean down to though, so if they weren't stacked I would get the pedastal.

Re: Front Loading washers and pedestals
My sister has the pedestals for both and I love it (I have a top load washer)...all the detergents go in them and everything is hidden.

We got the LG set - it's in the basement so we didn't get the pedestals. It's personal choice and either way you can't go wrong.
On a side note...I have to say that I LOVE these machines. They are great!

WE have a front loader and no pedestal, but I do wish we have one. I like it up higher. I would get them if you can.

Re: Front Loading washers and pedestals
Congrats !! I got the same set & LOVE LOVE LOVE THEM! They actually measure the amt of water to use by the amt of clothes you put in... talk abt high tech !
I did not get the stands at that time, but will do so soon as we moving & will need them. Looking to get the LG SS set for the kitchen

Re: Front Loading washers and pedestals
we did not get the pedestals, I could not see spending the $$ on them, when I could just bend down a bit. It hasn't been a problem. I'm glad we didn't b/c now I think we decided to stack them

Re: Front Loading washers and pedestals
We have them in the basement but I did get the pedestals. That extra couple of inches makes a difference when searching for the stuff in the back of the washer

Re: Front Loading washers and pedestals
Just FYI, if your washer/dryer is upstairs, do not get the peestals. They cause a higher amt of vibration, which causes a lot of noise if the laundry room is upstairs.
