*sidewalks (I prefer older, established neighborhoods)

Older neighborhoods don't have sidewalks? Chat Icon
How old are you talking? My parents house was builty in the 30s & has sidewalks, but I've seen brand new developments that don't.

I like the look of no sidewwalks, but the practicality of sidewalks.

The majority of new developments have sidewalks b/c town codes require them.

It's been my experience (at least in the area where I live), that older neighborhoods tend not to have sidewalks. And if a new development should pop up w/o sidewalks, it's because 1. they're on larger plots (1+ acres) and/or 2. they're trying to be consistent with the surrounding neighborhoods/blocks.

too many knick-knacks. Chat Icon

I hate this too. Too much "stuff" bothers me.

I'm so not a basement person. We tried to find a house where the laundry was not in the basement. But we ended up having laundry in the basement. It's not a full basement though and it doesn't have those steep stairs.

The only turn-offs for me are either the location of the house or something structural that can't be changed. Other than that, I keep a completely open mind and it's worked out well for me on two homes.
