Re: ok, this is going to sound AWFUL
I don't miss the days before DH either.. those times were rough for me. I do miss going out and hanging with my girlfriends...
but, I wouldn't trade anything for the world-I love my life now!

Re: ok, this is going to sound AWFUL
The only thing I really miss sometimes is my alone time. I lived alone for a long time before I got married and I like to have the house to myself once in a while.
I was 37 when I got married though. I was single long enough

Re: ok, this is going to sound AWFUL
I definately do not wish I was single. My life has changed DRASTICALLY, and all for the better since meeting the love of my life. But I do think back, and wish I could relive some of those wild days. They were SO much fun.
I look at my single friends now, and sure, they are having fun, but they all seem lonely and miserable.

Re: ok, this is going to sound AWFUL
I think about what my life would be without DH. We have been together a long time and spent much of our early twenties together. I sort of wish I had partied / enjoyed myself a little more than I did... I will always regret never living on my own in NYC during those years.
I love my married life now, but it is definitely extremely stressful and I sometimes wish I could go back to my carefree early 20's.

I miss being young and in college, but that is more missing that freedom and lack of responsibility. I love DH more than anything, but college was the best time of my life. Never before or since have I had such freedom with so few responsibilities.
I never really liked being single at any age, so I don't miss that.

I don't think it sounds awful at all. Taking stock of your life is something most people do (at least I think they do).
I never wonder about being single - I am way too happy with DH. I do wish I had more of a wild streak when I was younger though

Re: ok, this is going to sound AWFUL
I love my life now, it's very busy, and I hardly see DH, but he gave me a better perspective on my life, helped me to grow up and become a better person for myself, not anyone else.
For that I am grateful and wouldn't change a thing...
But to answer your question, I think we all like to reminisce on our days gone by, I do....

ditto!
But... i Loved being single!! Seriously.. never wanted the whole boyfriend thing, or commitment. So, when i actually wanted that with DH, i knew it was worth holding onto. but i definitely still have those times when i think 'oh, what i would be doing right now if i were single'... and then i just do a married/modified version of that. I'm married- not dead

I am just glad I lived in the city for 2 years and had fun- even though I was dating Jake for a year and a half of that
( figures I move to the city to marry a boy I went to high school with)
but I am glad I did it- I loved living in the city- and it would be a big regret

Never.
I was single for over 33 years and dated seeminlgy everyone in the metro-area before I met my husband. I must have gone out with over 200 guys from the internet alone and only dated 2 more than once.
I could write a book, or a series of books, on them

Re: ok, this is going to sound AWFUL
Nope, but I was married when I was 34, I had all my fun and then some
I love being a wife and a mother, I would be too tired to go out now anyway. I will admit that on certain Friday's when it is really nice out I long to be on a Ferry to Fire Island.

Re: ok, this is going to sound AWFUL
I think about how much crazy fun I had between 18-25 with my friends going out all the time, back when all my girlfriends had a key to my apartment and I could find any number of people when I would come home from work or a date...but then I think about all the LOSERS I met and dated while I was out there and I wouldn't change a thing.

No I don't miss being single. I love the stage I'm in right now, married with a baby on the way. I do miss the carefree days of my early 20s, no responsibility going out all the time. But I wouldn't trade now for then for anything.
I couldn't have said it better !!! Those are exactly my thoughts.....and my husband and I have a very active social life so I don't feel like I'm missing anything either right now...once the baby comes a few things will probably have to change because we can't do things so spontaneously but I think if you really want to, you always find a way... I feel that you have to live every stage of your life(not that this happen for everyone) and I feel I've done that so far. So, I don't miss being single at all......

Re: ok, this is going to sound AWFUL
The only time I wish I were single is when we book vacations. Double the money hurts!! So much cheaper when we first started dating and I had my vacations and he had his.
But his company is worth it once we are on vacation.

Re: ok, this is going to sound AWFUL
DH & I got together at 19 and now I'm 27. So YES I always think about what it may have been if I were single or have waited to have Marissa. I think it's normal to think about this at times....I;m happy with my life now but you always think what might have been of your life had you made different choices.

Re: ok, this is going to sound AWFUL
I don't really miss being single, but I kinda miss the days when me and DH just met and his friends and my friends would all hang out and meet up in Long Beach. We had so much fun and getting to know DH was the BEST! But I definitely DON'T miss being single and trying to meet guys. It always seemed like going out revolved around meeting guys and even though me and my girlfriends had fun dancing, etc...we still had that disappointing feeling as another weekend went by without meeting Mr. Right.
If I could go back in time, I would go back to age 7. LOL...play outside all day, not a care in the world...come in for dinner, go back out afterwards and eat ice cream with friends until mom called ya in for bed....those are the days I miss most.

Doesn't sound awful. Everyone is different.
I loved being young and single but I was ready to be married and now I love being married and wouldn'tt go back even if i could. I do worry though that once I have kids I will miss it being just me and my husband...doesn't THAT sound awful

Re: ok, this is going to sound AWFUL
I can't say I miss it. I waited a long time to get married because I wanted to make sure I had accomplished what I wanted to on my own, that includes dating a variety a people. Being married is great, I truly love it.
