if you found out/will find out your baby's gender...
... how did you (or will you) do it? Did the sonogram tech just tell you or did you do something special?
My BFF brought two gift boxes wrapped identically to the appointment, one with a baby boy outfit and one with a baby girl outfit. She had the tech put a bow on the correct box. She and her husband unwrapped the gift when they got home to reveal the baby boy outfit.

I'm too anxious for all that jazz. The thought of doing something like that or a gender reveal party is appealing, but I don't think I could wait.
I couldn't even wait for my 20 week sono. I did an elective sono at 17 weeks

Id like to do something special. I havent put any thought into it yet though.
ETA: i dont mean something special for other people i mean for the two of us.

I wanted to do a gender reveal....but as soon as the tech said do you want to know what it is.....all that went out the window and I wanted to know right then. lol

i THINK we are going to have her write it and put it in an envelope and we will go out to dinner and open it there  so we can discuss names and nursery plans etc.

With DS, we just had the sono tech tell us and we called everyone after the appt.
With this bump, i am still going to have the sono tech tell us, but we may do something special to tell everyone else.

Both times the tech just told us. But, for the second, after we left, we went and bought a (pink) outfit, wrapped it, and took it home where our families were waiting for the news, and let them unwrap it.

LOL omg we said the same thing! When we found out the first time it was so impersonal I want it to be a little more special this time around.

The doctor came in in the middle and asked if we wanted to know. We said yes and he told us to guess. I guessed boy because I thought I saw a penis (turns out it as the umbilical cord ) and he said nope, it's a girl and then left the room. It was pretty funny. The tech was laughing the entire time. DH and I had no clue if the doctor was joking or not. He came back in a few minutes later though.

He opened his legs for a few seconds and I was able to tell even before the sono tech. She turned around and said, how did you see that so fast.

Lol we didn't do anything special. It took 10 mins for our little guy to open his legs to show us, I don't think I could have waited any longer lol

We had the tech write it down and out it in an envelope. DH and I went on our babymoon in Fla the next week and opened it when we were alone together on vacation. It was so exciting... We come home on a Wed and threw a gender reveal party that Saturday. We're having twins so he had each grandmother cut one of the cakes.
My husband wanted to find out at the Drs office... for me, the way we did it was absolutely perfect. I wouldnt have changed any of it.

With my first baby (we lost the pregnancy, but after finding out the gender) we were told it was a boy by the sono tech during the appt.
My plan was to visit my parents afterwards with either a pink or blue ribbon tied around my belly.
I will be doing it the same way next time around! I considered doing the whole envelope and finding out with my dh at home kind of thing .... but I'd like to share that special moment with my surrogate too. We'll be finding out during the sono.
