Should I just start applying now?
I have a temporary position until June. This was an amazing opportunity, but I need to leave after June. There's no going back to my old position after this. I'm wondering when I should start applying for new jobs. Should I wait? Does it take awhile to go through resumes?
I'm exclusively looking in higher education if that helps.

It's def not too early to start. Budgets refresh in January, often, so it's a good time to start a job search.

I would start now. I started a new job in October after having applied in early May. Some places hire more quickly, others, not so much - can't hurt to start now.
