Matt Lauer fired after 20 years at NBC
NEW YORK -
(AP) NBC News says longtime "Today" show host Matt Lauer has been fire for "inappropriate sexual behavior."
Lauer's co-anchor Savannah Guthrie made the announcement at the top of Wednesday's "Today" show.
Guthrie read a statement from NBC News chairman Andy Lack, stating that the company has received a detailed complaint from a colleague Monday night "about inappropriate sexual behavior in the workplace" by Lauer. Lack's statement said the company found that after a serious review of the complaint it represented "a clear violation" of the company's standards, and Lauer was terminated as a result.
Lack added in his statement that it was the first complaint about Lauer in more than 20 years at NBC, but "we were also presented with reason to believe this may not have been an isolated incident."
The move comes a week after CBS News fired morning anchor Charlie Rose amid reports of sexual misconduct.

He reminds me of a creeper and has always grossed me out so no shock to me.
He also seems to have a huge ego and think he's God's gift to women... .just the vibe I got.

There have been rumors about this for years. His wife filed for divorce over a decade ago when it was rumored she found out the first time, but they reconciled. this was a dirty open secret.

I am surprised but I am more shocked at the fact that EVERY SINGLE DAY it's someone new, it's another complaint, it's another case of men acting like $hits. It's just disheartening that this is such an issue in our society. I can only hope that I raise my own son to be WAY better than this.

The most shocking thing about it is that NBC actually fired him. So many people on my FB feed are in complete shock. I'm like really?? There have been rumors about him for years!! That whole scandal with Anne Curry probably had something to do with it. She probably complained about him and they terminated her.
Also, let's not give NBC any awards for acting so quick. This crap has been going on for years and they did nothing about it. I believe Variety and the New York Times were working on stories about this so they had no choice but to get ahead of it.

I just read that the NYT was doing a story about it, so they had no choice but to fire him. I guess we will see what the NYT story is.

First thing I said to my hubby when I heard was that I bet it was during one of those crazy Olympic trips. I bet a whole bunch of craziness happens on those trips, particularly in Rio.
I agree with the pp that said it mostly surprising how every day it's someone else. Is there any one who hasn't done something awful? It's so disheartening.

I’m gonna make the assumption there is clear evidence or addmission of guilt. You don’t fire over accusation. You suspend-but not fire.
Unfortunately , I am not surprised about all of these men being “outted”. Money + power = do what you want. Also unfortunate is the women who accept this behavior or go towards it (gold diggers, etc)
I’m glad it’s coming out. Hopefully it won’t be the norm anymore

this is what I would like to know with him and all these guys being outed.
If he had sex in the workplace; inappropriate yes but in the long run who cares??!!
