My parents live about 20 minutes from us.
In-laws live in N.J. so it's about 1hour and half.

My mom lives in the same town. My dad lives in Georgia, but he travels a lot for work so he's rarely there.
My ILs permanant residence is in FL, they have an apt in Suffolk and are up about every other month for 2-6 weeks at a time.

My parents live all the way across the country from us. It stinks because we hardly ever get to see them (maybe twice a year), but we definitely cherish the time we do spend together a lot. We used to fight a lot when I saw them all the time, but now we get along a lot better. It'll get really hard if/when DH and I have a baby - I grew up living close to all of my grandparents and wouldn't trade that for anything, so it makes me sad to think that my kids may not have that, and I know my parents would hate it, too.
wow... I would have wrote the same thing word for word. My parents live in Florida and our relationship is better because we do really cherish the time together but I am worried when we have our children how its going to be. My parents are thinking of maybe moving a little closer when Dh and I have a baby..

My mom lives about 50 minutes away, my dad about 30...this is without traffic of course! I really dont see them a lot.
My ILs live in FL and we see them at least twice a year.

My parents live about 45 min. away from me, on Staten Island. For me, that works perfectly, b/c we see them 2-3 times per month on average, which is a good amount. I think that we get along better than we would if I were still living on SI, like my sister does.
ETA: My ILs live about half an hour away, and we tend to see them more b/c we're on LI a lot more often.

Both sets of our parents live on LI and we just moved to Ma. (just south of Boston). So it's about a 4.5 hour car ride. My parents have their LI house on the market. They bought a condo on Cape Cod. His parent's are planning on staying on LI.

we just moved to NJ from LI and now im actually a bit closer to my mom, its about a 6 hour drive. MIL & family on LI is about 2 hours away now

Right now my parents are about 1.5 hours away with no traffic. MIL lives downstairs. Once we close on the new house we will be 1/2 hour away from my parents and my MIL will be about 1 hour away.

Both sets of parents are a two hour drive away. My family lives in CT and DH's lives in NJ. It was fine at first, we'd see them at least once a month. But now that we have a baby, it would be nice to have at least 1 set close to help. I feel bad that they don't get to see DD as often as most grandparents do.

We don't see each other all the time but they are close enough that we can get together.

My mom and DH's parents live about 25-30 mins away. My father lives 3 1/2 hours away. I generally see my mom at least once a week, and DH sees his parents once a week (we both have dinner with our respective parents on Monday nights...works perfectly for us!). I rarely see my father...maybe once every couple years, but that is more because of our relationship (or lack thereof) as opposed to distance.

My parents like about 1 hour and 15 minutes away (with no traffic). I am in NJ and they are in Long Island. MIL lives about 20 minutes away and FIL lives in VA.
I wish my parents lived closer, esp. now that we have DD. But we do try to see them once a week. Although with vacations and someone being sick I haven't seen them for 2 1/2 weeks. It's hard because we're close.
I see my MIL just about 1-2 times a week.

Um, they live five feet down the hallway right now. We just moved in with them currently while we house hunt, and I'm pretty sure it will be difficult, but really nice, at the same time. Both my dad and JT work late nights, so my mom and I are really happy that we will have each other for a few months. But up until this weekend, we lived 40 minutes away from them, and it was hard. I like to be able to see them on a whim, and that was really hard to do.

My mom is almost 3 hours away but still on LI. My dad is 40 minutes away (traffic). My IL's are 35 minutes away (no traffic) and my grandfather is about 45 minutes away. I wish my mom was closer but somehow we still see each other a lot.

My parents live about 15-20 minutes away. I see my mom every friday and sometimes on sunday we go over to see my mom and dad too.

My Mom is about 10 minutes away and DH's family is about 20 minutes away. If my mother were in better health, I would be inclined to move out of state. I love NY but I am ready for a change.

My parents live 2540 miles away and I HATE IT. Especially now that we have a child. It just stinks. But they are planning to move out here soon since they miss their grandchildren so much.

My parents live in Florida and my in laws live abut 20 minutes away. I probably see my parents just as much as I see my in laws if not more - they are up all the time
