My parents live out of state....should I wait to tell them or tell them now???
My parents live 2 hours away in PA. I just saw them last weekend and I prob won't see them again until Thanksgiving.
I'm torn b/c I know my Mom wants to know right away, but it seems so blah to do it over the phone. I really don't know if I can wait until Thanksgiving to share the good news though.
For those whose parents live out of state..what would you recommend doing??

I would've waited, but I was just too excited. I told my mom and sister (in a 3-way call) over the phone.

Maybe send them something instead, if you can't visit them. Like an "I love my Grandpa/Grandma" bib or something... or a frame that says 'grandkids'.

The first time, I wasn't going to see them for five months so I told them over the phone. I then had a M/C.
The second time I found out, I waited until they were in town.
Both were overwhelmingly emotional for all of us

We called my MIL and told her.
But for DH's extended family, we sent out an email with a picture of our dog with a sign on her announcing it. It was cute and they all loved it.

I called my mom to tell her. She's in Florida. The first time around, she was working 3rd shift in a hospital and I was never sure when she was home, so I bought a really cute "brag book" photo album [specifically for grandmas] and wrote a note on the inside saying "congrats! soon you'll be filling this up!" I dropped it off at her house and left it for her to find.
she loved it.

Start a new tradition...have everyone go around and say I am thankful for...when it gets to you say I am thankful for wonderful grandparents like you. Hopefully they catch on.

try to!!! that way u can see their faces when u do!!!! not that is bad to do it over the phone but it would be nice to be able to see them and do it.

I told my parents on Thanksgiving. We went around the table to say what we were thankful for.
I said "I'm thankful for my family - my immediate family and my pending one."
Talk about stunned silence followed by HUGE smiles!
I would wait to tell her in person.

My folks live in PA too. I was going to make a special trip just to announce it. It so happened that Mothers Day was a week or so away so I sent a pic of the sono in her Mother's Day card. It was the next best thing.....

I'd wait until Thanksgiving. The next month will fly by..it'll be here before you know it.
We would've loved to tell our parents in person but then we would've had to wait 3 months after our BFP. (They live out of state too.) We told them a couple days after my 8-week appt on Mother's Day.

With Nate, I told them over the phone. This time, I took a picture of Nate with a sign that said "I'm going to be a big brother" and emailed it to my mom.

Same here. At the time we lived on LI. My dad lives in Fla., SIL lives in Hawaii, My brother and SIL are in NJ and the rest of DH's family were in upstate NY, we did not know when everyone would be able to be in the same room. We were too excited to wait so we told them all two days after my BFP. We figured the more prayers for sticky vibes, the better.

I'd wait until the first dr.'s visit, jmpo though. Do you have a web cam on the PC? this is how we told our IL's with my daughter. With everyone else we told over the phone. With my second pregnancy we waited to tell my IL's until they came down to visit.
