Facebook- want to delete but don't want to, lol
I'm so done with half the crap in my feed. Part of me wants to delete it but I like that the schools pta posts reminders and there's the family that's far away.
I'm ready to end it but not.

I cleaned out my FB with a bunch of deleting. And what I didn’t want to actually be rid of forever, I unfollowed.
It really is the best feature

i completely understand.
i'm about ready to unfriend and/or unfollow a lot of things. i'm over a lot of my own relatives lol

I treat FB like a private club.
Very selective of who and what I follow and who I friend. I don't friend people I do not talk with IRL.
No need for them to know my business.
There is always that wonderful unfollow option too.

No, the don't. I unfollowed a bunch a while ago and my FB improved a lot.

Groups you can hover and say "unfollow, or snooze for 30 days". I am in so many groups, but I unfollow most of them.

Like others have said - unfollow people/groups, snooze ‘em for 30 days and/or delete annoying people.
I will usually unfollow people for a bit, then at some point check who I’ve unfollowed. Usually I have totally forgotten about them and if so, I delete that person.
I’m also a fan of deleting people if I notice it’s their birthday and we pretty much never communicate online or IRL. Haha

I am with you-likely for similar reasons in some ways. Then I see good news from friends or a useful article or, like you said, the pta and I am still on. I deleted the app a long time ago and having to use the site lessened my usage somewhat

I just unfollowed a handful of people who I simply cannot stand anymore but don't want to go through the drama of unfriending. It feels SO great to not see their garbage posts in my newsfeed anymore!

Boy I hear you on the drama of unfriending someone. I did that last Summer, because I got sick and tired of seeing a "friends" passive aggressive posts about all of her friends on FB, and I really didn't care for her to see anything going on in MY life anymore. She INSTANTLY messaged me about unfriending her...she must have stalked me on there to know when I removed her! She has been posting passive aggressive crap about me on there since! Almost a year! People need to get lives!

I need to unfollow a lot of people. I've been holding out because part of me doesn't want to be in a bubble, but the stupid pro-gun posts and the pro-Trump posts and the pro-birth posts are starting to get to me. For my own sanity, I need to just do it and be happy in my bubble.

haha i hear you...I hate Facebook and all the annoying people on it...lol
I have unfolllowed a TON of people and groups and it sort of helped...but i could still see things that annoyed me or things that made me sad...I was over it so I dont look at it anymore.
I do have instagram which I look at from time to time but not regularly. And I mostly just follow celebrities and close friends only...
Yet I keep my FB account for certain things like school/PTA groups but thats really it. I look at it when I need.

 That's so crazy!! People need to get a life!
Honestly, if someone wants to unfriend me, have at it. I don't need anyone in my life (on FB or otherwise) who has no interest in me or my life. I use to spend WAY too much time trying to please everyone and be overly nice and you know what? In the end, you can't make people like you or be interested in your life, I am too secure in myself at this age to really care anymore about what anyone thinks of me. Good riddance to the people that don't want to be around.
I have really whittled down FB list over the last year, I only want people in my "friends" list who talk to me, comment and care. Everyone else can take a hike!

Follow means you can see them on your facebook feed lol. That doesn't mean you aren't your own person with unique ideas If you aren't following them, then absolutely nothing they write on FB would show up in your feed

I hate facebook.
If I could, I would delete the majority of my "friends". But the catastrophic drama that would ensue? People use fb to gauge their self worth. I don't want to know half the stuff people post about themselves. I don't like what people use it for. It doesn't seem ok for me to know that.
I miss the interactions with family & friends across the globe, so I'll go on from time to time to do that, and check on PTA happenings, but otherwise I'm logged off, zero email notifications, and it's not on my phone.

That’s how I’ve been feeling about people knowing my business. Especially with a baby on the way, it makes me a little uncomfortable to know that people I have no interest in chatting with in real life will see some personal details like the birth of my baby. I keep debating if I should delete this person or that person.....
I’ve deleted the messenger app on my phone because I found it too distracting and something stupid that someone would share with me would end up drawing me away from my kid. I may delete it from my iPad soon and if someone wants to reach me so badly they can do it via text or phone call. Just a thought. I haven’t officially decided what I want to do
Also wanted to add that I recently went on a deleting spree of people who obviously added me because they “know” me from Facebook mom groups, etc and are heavily involved in independent sales stuff. I’ll never EVER buy independent sales crap except maybe usborne books if a friend is selling. I don’t do candles. I don’t do leggings. I’m happy with my skin routine and eyelashes.
