But sigh, I’ll answer. I said “After six months of lockdown, I do not want to go back.” Nowhere does it say we are STILL in lockdown.
Only two diseases have been eradicated: Small pox and Rinderpest. It was recommended by my doctor that I get my polio vaccine updated because there was an outbreak (at that time) in Angola, and I was going to be in northern Namibia.
Eliminate and eradicate have different meanings.
Ahh my bad. Glad no lockdown :)

I got my first vaccine today. It was really draining for me because of my response to needles. I got Comirnaty (BioNTech. Pfizer). I chose a vaccine center that was in the countryside, so I didn’t have to go to the city and was able to have a support person. It wasn’t bad and it’s a little sore. Going to sleep well tonight.
I got it because this is the lesser of two evils and I don’t want to be hospitalized if I got sick.
Got a free ice cream, and my support person did, too, even though he won’t be getting the vaccine just yet.

Nope. All my friends and family who work in healthcare have said Covid cases are up in their hospitals. They are on the front lines. Even if I didn’t believe the government or main stream media, I believe them because what benefit does some nurse get from trying to scare us. NONE.

It actually has been reported on the news that there is a significant increase in the number of children being hospitalized and in the ICU in many states and that the number of elderly being hospitalized is statistically lower than last year because of the higher percentage of that population that is vaccinated.

The pandemic has revealed to me how people view the elderly and those with health conditions as having a diminished value and that they are disposable. I suppose that’s my privilege showing that I never really saw that before but now I see it.
Hospitalizations and deaths don’t really matter or count when the rationalization is that they had health issues or are over 60.

Very sad that this is where we are in the world. People are so concerned about getting back to their "normal". Well, a lot of people's new "normal" is grieving the loss/losses of loved one/ones who've died from Covid.
But, as long as I can still party with MY crew - I'm ok. (sarcasm too!)
Personally, I got the vaccine because I live with an 82 year old who is afraid of it and a 9 year old who can't get it yet. I have a lot of responsibilities and I couldn't chance getting sick/hospitalized.

I want people to live, simple as that.
I don't know why people want to gamble with their own lives...their childrens lives...but I guess this is evolution at work. They way its looking unvaxxed people will be unable to participate in society, which I suppose, is again, evolution at work. Collectivism trumps individualism everytime.

Stop already with that "underlying" condition bs. SO WHAT??? If they have asthma, it's highly unlikely that they's be in the hospital if it weren't for COVID. And many of them have no underlying conditions. Give it a rest already. If you are fearful because of the FACTS, that's on you. Stating FACTS is not fear mongering. Your level of ridiculousness is unbelievable
