I had asked to get them in my baby book for DS. The only did his feet and gave me a stupid excuse that they didn't have the ink pad for the hands 
How do they differ.. it is probably just easy for them to do feet prints and hard to do hand prints so they just dont bother.
Im happy I do have the feet prints 
It's practically impossible to do a newborn's handprint. I've tried. The clench their hands the second anything touches them, they can't help it it's a reflex.

The nurses at Winthrop did it for both my children. We had nothing to do it in, so they just did it on a card we got to take home with us.

A friend of mine was so upset because she thought she never got them. It turned out that she did get them and she tucked them into her copy of the book, "Your Pregnancy Week by Week." She must have had the book with her at the hospital. She has no recollection of receiving it or putting it in the book. She passed the book on to me and I found it while I was reading. She was so excited! Is it possible that you put them somewhere that you didn't realize?

Just footprints - they didn't do handprints...don't worry about it! i mean - i have no idea if my mom ever got mine...and im perfectly happy in life

We got two sets at LIJ. Once they did his records we gave them the paper and they asked if we had more.

I got footprints at Good Sam, but I had to ask, they stamped the page right in the baby book.

Yes, we got footprints for both of my boys at Huntington Hospital.

We only got footprints. I took his hand prints and foot prints when we got home too and then when he was a year old too.

We just got footprints but they put it on a paper cut into a heart shape with her stats written on it. I have to put it in her baby book.

Yes...we got her footprints. The nurse gave us ink to take home and told us to do her handprints like 2 weeks later because when they are first born the lines in the hand aren't visible or soemthing like that....Anyway, of course I forgot.

We did. I delivered at Winthrop and at the orientation they told us to bring anything we wanted them to put the footprint on.
Same here....plus I got a little card with her footprints
