Christening Party Location Thread

Since there have been so many people recently looking for a place to have a Christening party, I thought it would be nice to start a thread. Where did/are you having your DC's Christening? What was the PP cost? What did it include?

I will start. DD #1's Christening was at the VFW hall in Massapequa by the train station in 2008. Room rental was $275 I think and unlimited beer wine and soda was $8 pp. Children under three were free and under 21 were $3 pp. We brought in all of our own food.

Chat Icon 's Baptism party was at The Coral House - Colonial Skylight room in BaldwinChat Icon

We had 65 people. Beer (bottled, a good selection) wine and soda were included. We had a sit down dinner with salad and pasta course, with passed hot and cold appetizers, fruits and veggies and an ice cream bar. Four hour party!

Total was about $2300.00. Everyone raved about it afterwards!

Re: Christening Party Location Thread

DDs was the Garden Grill, $33 pp plus a tab for drinks.

DS was Sonoma Grill in Sayville, $27 pp I think. Also ran a tab.

Great things to say about both places.

Re: Christening Party Location Thread

we just recently booked the American Legion in Seaford for DS's 1st bday. They do not have a caterer so you have to bring your own food.

2301 Penatiquit Avenue
Seaford, NY 11783-3146
(516) 785-9429

-huge and newly renovated room
-High ceilings
-new bathrooms
-kitchen
-holds 160 people
-no crazy memorabilia on the walls
-big 18X20 dance floor

$575 for the room + liquor ($8 for beer, wine, soda or $9.50 for full bar)

*the room is big enough for a bounce house, too!

Re: Christening Party Location Thread

We had ours at KofC in Hicksville. It turned out to be far more than we wanted to spend at a KofC and probably could have had it for the same money at a restaurant, although we did have a dance floor for a DJ which probably would have been more difficult.

BUT, worst thing ever happened. They use outside caterers. I told them how many people we had and they RAN OUT OF FOOD. I was SO MORTIFIED. If you use KofC of Hicksville, the room is great, but tell them you have more people than you actually have or you'll be in trouble!!
