Yes and I prefer it but I drive an automatic now cause DH and I have to share my car due to the baby and he is anti stick

Yes, I can. I learned on a huge Ford F250 pickup and a dumptruck when I was in HS....  The throws on those trucks were about 3 feet! I also had to hug the steering wheel to get the clutch all the way in.
I have an auto now, since DW can't drive stick, and we can't afford to have a car that she can't drive. I've told her for many years that my "midlife crisis" car is going to be a manual....

Can I do it well? NO.
My friend taught me about 4 years ago, but I haven't driven a manual car since then, although if I have to I could. I actually don't like it at all.

To answer my own question, I learned and I can, but my car is an automatic and I much prefer it. DH has a stick shift car which I drive occasionally, but I much prefer my own. (Haha, that originally said my DH has a stick shift that I drive occasionally, but I realized that might have other connotations!! )

I loved driving stick! I plan (at some point) to own a manual car again. Prob won't happen until our kids are grown.

I was taught, I wouldn't say I learned
and I think I destroyed my friends clutch in the process
I'll stick to automatic!

The first car I ever bought was stick...I didn't know how to drive it until I left the lot (my dad test drove it for me). Within 2 hours I was a pro.

Yes, I learned on a stick shift. I even use the manual shift mode in my automatic car. The ability to shift on your own, in some ways, makes driving easier and, often, better, imo.

Nope. DH tried to teach me years ago, but I got so frustrated that when he told me to drive to the other side of the parking lot to meet him, I turned the car off, got out, walked to the other side and threw the keys at him and told him to go get the car himself.

My first new car was a stick...drove it for 6 years...then DH's last truck was a stick...now we have automatics  Miss driving stick...but not when I'm stuck on the LIE in traffic

Yup and I prefer it!
Both of our vehicles are automatic because a manual transmission is a PIA to drive in NY and we have SUV's.
If I am going to drive a manual then I want it to be a sports car....on an open road...where I can really take advantage of it!

Every car I have owned but my first has been stick. Both DH and my car are stick shift, it will be a sad day when they do away with it. Which is the direction I think a lot of car companies are going.

My HS boyfriend tried to teach me on his car. I can't say I was a success at it either. To my credit I did not blow out his clutch. I found it difficult though.
