What kind of car do you drive?

We are starting our car search. We have one new car that will fit the babies easily, but for longer drives and when we take MIL our others out to dinner, etc. we need a bigger car. I am hoping we get something like a Pacifica, Pathfinder or Highlander (with 7 seats) but I wanted to see what everyone suggests in terms of cars. I really don't want a minivan but DH thinks we should at least consider them. What does everyone drive? TIA! Chat Icon

I have the Toyota Sienna. I hated the idea of having a mini van but now am loving how we all fit comfortably in it.

Re: What kind of car do you drive?

I have a Altima, and it has been great. I bought the car two weeks before I knew I was having twins, and maybe would have gotten an SUV, but I am very happy with the Altima. DH has a Dodge Ram with a Full size crew cab and the boys fit in that great too. The only think I don't like about it is that I have to lift them up high.

My parents have a pilot with the 3 rows but the third row seems like a waste IMO. The boys seats can't be in the back back, so anyone else would have to sit there if the boys are in the car. The third row leg room is horrible too, your knees are in your chest.

Dags - my cousin has one of the GMC trucks. It has three rows and is awesome. Def. check them out!

ETA: It is perfect for them - they have two kids - so when other people go in the car they sit in the last row. I would def. recommend it.

I have a Mercury Mountaineer and love it. I think we'll habe a problem fitting the stroller or pack and play in when the third row is up though, as it eats up most of the truck space.

We have the Chevy Equinox. I love that the back seat moves back and forth so that we can have easier access to the babies. We don't have a third seat, and I can't tell you if the cargo space is sufficient for twins, because we have not become parents yet. I will tell you I LOVE MY TRUCK!

us too. Mazda MPV. The comforts of a minvan by far outweigh "the image" of any SUV in my eyes Chat Icon Chat Icon

and I usually hear similar comments from SUV moms Chat Icon

I don't have twins but I do have the Pacifica. It is roomy I can sit in the 3rd comfortably. Our second row has bucket seats. I think it would be hard to get to the 3rd row with 2 car seats because you have to fold the 2nd row down to get to it. I love it but I don't know how it will be when we have 2 kids in the 2nd row. I think I would go with an SUV or mini-van. The Chrysler Town and Country is really nice.
