Re: what smells remind
My mom had this ancient bottle of perfume ( don't even remember what it was, ans I don't htnk they make it anymore) that she only wore on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Every now and them I will get a whif of it (or something similar) and be transported back to when I was like 5 or 6 and opening presents.
Also, the smell of any elementary school cafeteria reminds me of my childhood.

Wood burning stoves. We always had ours lit in the winter time. It made the house so cozy. And I love how it smells in the neighborhood this time of year.
Hot pavement after it rains. It reminds me of when we were little, and it was a hot steamy day and all of a sudden it would pour and thunder and lightening out. We'd have to wait for it to pass before we could go outside again. Oh to be young again and have the summers off.

Tomato sauce - reminds me of my Nana, there was always a pot going at her house, it seemed like anytime of day - all day.

not wierd at all, I LOVED the Hello Kitty store, all those stickers, pencils, erasers that smelled like bubble gum, etc. Ahh, the good old days!
