Invisalign vs. Braces-- If you used Invisalign
We are deciding between Invisalign and braces for our son. Cost is the same, so thats not an issue. I am worried about his compliance and losing or damaging the appliance etc. Our orthodontist did say that if Invisalign doesn't work out we can switch to regular braces.
Curious if your kid used Invisalign did they comply better or worse than you thought they would? Was it a pain? Would you choose Invisalign if you had to do over again?
Love to hear your feedback. Thanks!

Re: Invisalign vs. Braces-- If you used Invisalign
My kids are all getting or had regular braces. I did invisilign myself and I just think for most kids it's too much responsibility. You have to take them out to eat and clean them before you put them back in. I feel like that's not easy to do at school and I can see them ending up lost and in the garbage a lot. I just wanted to avoid the headache. I feel like it's probably less painful on the whole than braces, but you do have to change the tray every week or so and some new trays hurt more than others.

I’m doing Invisalign right now and I do not think it’s a good choice for kids. I don’t think kids would want to brush their teeth at school and the aligners would be lost.

I did Invisalign and loved it. My bfs daughter tried it and she wasn't good about keeping them in, so now she has regular braces.

Re: Invisalign vs. Braces-- If you used Invisalign
My DD barely wears her rubber bands like she is supposed to. Her treatment is dragging out because of it. There is no way she'd comply with Invisalign. Not to mention I'd worry about her losing it at school, etc She loses EVERYTHING. Water bottles, lunch boxes, an Apple watch. Everything
It wasn't even offered to us though because her overbite was so severe that it was no match for Invisalign. Her ortho told us she needed the old school braces 100%

My friend’s DD got Invisalign in 3rd grade. Ortho had her swish water after she ate lunch but didn’t require any brushing/cleaning at school. She did that when she got home. Her teeth look great!
Now considering it for my 12yo, as I had such a miserable experience with traditional braces.

Re: Invisalign vs. Braces-- If you used Invisalign
We did Invisalign - we started out strong and he was good until he got tired of always taking them out. So towards the end he stopped wearing them and then we had to order more trays to redo the retainer.
I think it really depends how long the orthodontist thinks he will need them. We were doing for a year and half then it only got prolonged again
