Saturday late afternoon wedding
I haven't been to a wedding in ages. My kids are in college and it seems I go to more funerals these days :(
What is appropriate for a late afternoon satuday wedding? I was thinking of a floral kind of flowy dress but is that not dressy enough? Does it have to be more evening wear?

I have a late afternoon wedding too and I think that sounds good. I am planning to wear a dressy jumpsuit.

What's late afternoon -- 3 PM ish? Is that the ceremony or the reception? It seems that most ceremonies are at around 3 or 3:30 and then the reception is at 6 ish. So, I usually wear evening clothes to the church too. I don't change between the church and the reception.
If everything is in one place, and the ceremony is at 3 with the party starting right after, you can probably go either way. A floral dress is fine, but I bet you'll also see people in evening-wear. Either is fine, IMO.

The ceremony is at 4:30, so I guess the reception would be more evening. Sounds like I need to rethink my dress. Thank you.

At that time of day, I would consider it to be a Sat. night wedding. Is it at a "regular" wedding venue, or a more casual venue? More formal? If it's a regular LI wedding venue, I'd wear a cocktail dress

You could always try a jumpsuit too. Many are very dressy as mine is a 4pm wedding so goes into the night too.
I have such white legs that I didn’t want to bother trying to get them tan to wear a dress. Lol

Yes, that would be an evening wedding, IMO. A floral dress might be too "day".

I hope I do as I ordered online and have no clue how it will look lol.
I am sure you can find something nice even if it is a dress. There is so much out there now :)

Time of day wouldn’t affect my clothing choice, location would.
If it’s at a wedding venue I’d wear a cocktail dress regardless of the time.

Where is it? If it a backyard or other outdoor wedding like a farm/vineyard then a long flowy dress should be fine. If its at a regular catering hall, I would wear formal wedding attire such as a cocktail dress.
EDT - saw it's an evening wedding at a catering hall. formal weeding attire then.

Is the wedding from someone close to u? If that was the case, I’d rethink the dress. But a flowery dress doesn’t sound bad, especially because it’s spring time. Is it a long dress? Can u post a pic of it?

I have a romper that you just pull over your shoulders and I know some have zippers on the side but the ones in the back, I don’t get. Do people actually get them off themselves or do they never pee? Lololol
Once you “break the seal” you are done and I plan to drink so it was a no go.
