Paint experts- need help with a color

I need to pick a paint color for my new bathroom soon.
I am looking for a very light grey... but true grey. No blue or green undertones, no taupe.
Like true grey but very light.

The wall paint in the below picture is what I want.
Any ideas on grey paint colors that look similar to this?

I'm not an expert but I love love love playing with the Benjamin Moore color your room feature, where you click on a color and pick a room to see it in, especially after I selected a terracotta paint to accent a brick wall and ended up with jack-o-lantern orange.

Classic Grey Benjamin Moore.

I wanted the same light true grey paint in my new office. I went through hell and back to find it, but it is 100% Classic Grey BM. It is light straight up grey and looks amazing against white trim. I am in LOVE every day I see it. I have gotten so many compliments on it too.

I just had to pick colors for an entire house. I wanted to scream. Worst part of the entire process. The ****** of it all is that one grey in one light looks one way... and then entirely different in another light. I loved Gray Owl but it wound up looking green in my space. UGHHH

Yep the whole lighting thing kills me too.

My bathroom has no window... so it's a naturally darker space. So I have to be careful with that too.

SOOOOO annoying

I just picked a very light gray for my bathroom. Swatch looked like a true gray. Sample looked like a true gray. My bathroom is now blue-gray.

I don’t get it.

I HATE picking paint colors. We're closing on our new house in a month and I just was talking to DH about the only thing that I'm really not looking forward to...is picking paint!

We used BM London Fog and it looked similar to that color. But you'll have to buy samples and put them on your wall. All paint looks different in different rooms based on natural lighting, what else is in the room, etc.

Such a pain in the ass! I also think it has a lot to do with the finish of the paint -- flat, matte, satin, gloss... they all mix up differently. AND I think some stores mix paint differently. I had two different stores mix the same color and they were far and away different. Blew my mind.

I googled it and it does, thank you.
OK well at least I have some options now when I go for swatches and samples.
I hate going in blind!

Try BM Arctic Gray and Stonington Gray. Both are pretty true Greys. Arctic grey is very light and Stonington is a bit darker. I used both in my house.

Picking paint colors is HELL!! Just went through the whole gray challenge with my kitchen. Lighting makes all the difference. We had samples of (all BM) Revere Pewter -very green, Covington and stonington both very blue. We ended up with Smoke Embers. We considered Baltic grey which was one shade darker but went with our choice bc it looked true grey

Re: Paint experts- need help with a color

Yeah I need to get swatches and samples.
Because when I google any one of these colors it looks different in every picture. Depending on the room, the light, and then of course you can't trust your monitor to be accurate or the camera the picture was taken with.

Too many variables.

It just sucksssss

I have distant grey in my kitchen, two bathrooms and whole downstairs. It’s basically white. I love it. Second if you find a color you like have the paint store cut it by 50% with white paint. I wanted the palest blue/green aqua kind of color. BM come sail with me and I had it cut 50% white and it is awesome. My daughters bedroom is pink peony and it’s a light pink but I wish I had it cut too. I love white walls or white walls that have just tints of color.

Not yet. We aren't at the point of paint yet and I didn't get a chance to go this weekend.
I will check out Wickham gray for sure though!

A true gray is a tricky find. I have BM Stonnington Gray in 2 bathrooms of my condo. While I love the color, it does have blue undertones. I also have BM Edgecomb gray. Again, I love but it is beige/gray (greige)

This site is awesome. She explains in detail the undertones of various gray paint colors.

I HIGHLY recommend getting actual samples. Totally sucks to spend the money on them but they will give you a true read in your room. I was all set on Revere Pewter and luckily got a sample can because it was very green on my wall.

Re: Paint experts- need help with a color

Update. The color I found that is closest to what I posted in the OP is Moonshine by BM.
It's very very similar to Gray Owl. The swatches were almost identical.
I think Moonshine might have been a DROP lighter than Gray Owl though.

It's up on the walls now and looks almost the same as the picture I posted.

I LOVE it.
But will love it more when the rest of the stuff is done because it's hard to tell with just a painted wall, no moldings, not fixtures, etc

Thanks for all the advice!
