If a transaction is voided, does it still show up on your credit card statement?
I recently returned a gift from Nordstrom and the sales associate put it back on the gift giver's Nordstrom credit card. She fixed the error by voiding the transaction and issuing me store credit. Just wondering if this will show up on my friend's statement.

If a transaction is voided, does it still show up on your credit card statement?
I think it should show up. Since there was activity to the card they will have it documented.

Yes, it will show up. I just bought something from Groupon and cancelled the order 10 minutes later. Both the purchase and the refund showed up.

When a return is processed at a store, the store does not send the information for processing immediately. It would not be sent until the end of their business day or when they batch out credit card transactions. So there is a chance that if it was immediately cancelled it may not show up on the statement.
This is the way it is done at my company.

It wouldn't show up... because if the transaction went through then they refunded the money to the credit card AND gave you a store credit. They would've issued a refund twice for one gift.

Yes, it will show up, but it will also be reversed. So she may just think it was a mistake.

Agreed. Why would they refund the gift giver and give you credit for the same amount? It should be one or the other.

No. A post void doesn't post to the card. Transactions don't post until the business polls so anything voided won't show on the statement
