you should pick an artist depending on the style of tattoo you want.
I have 5 tattoos and all by different artists because of the style.

What style? different artists specialize in different styles
if you want something simple, then it doesn't really matter, but if you want a detailed big piece then you should start with recommendations of shops and look at the different artists portfolios - some artists do guest stints and are booked out many months in advance

I've had 4 tattoos done by her, DH has had 4 done by her as well. A friend of ours recently went to her because he liked ours so much and he was extremely happy with her work. The place is very clean and she is super easy to work with. I can FM you some pictures if you are interested.
