Re: Newtown Documentary

I wanted to watch it but I couldn't at that time.

I'll see it at some point. I feel like I have to.

I literally tear up when I hear Newtown or Sandy Hook.

God bless these people...I have no idea how they get through the day.

Same. I don't think I could handle it.
I'm way too much of a basket case when it comes to this. My DD is that age now. I can't.

I feel the same way. My daughter is the same age as those angels and it caused me to personalize this tragedy even more.

A few years ago, I drove to my cousin's home that is next to Newtown and I honestly could hardly handle seeing the signs with the town's name. I was an emotional mess the entire day because of it.

Re: Newtown Documentary

It's so infuriating to me that even after hearing testimony on the senate floor from first responders and parents that STILL nothing will change. How can you be so heartless and so tied up with the NRA to ignore this atrocity? And that is what is happening..its being ignored..brushed under the carpet until it happens again and it will happen again. Newtown was the start and we are doing nothing to finish it.

Shameful and disgusting.

I have a first grader now too and I can't watch it. I still struggle with goodbyes everyday after that day.

Newtown Documentary

I refuse to watch. I can't deal with something about the loss of so many children. I watched the Taconic Documentary when it came out and it still haunts me to this day. I will pass.

I just looked it up and it's not in every country. I'm currently outside the U.S. & it's on my Netflix...it says available in 232 countries but for some reason not in the U.S. which is strange

Because you can't take away people's guns, they just can't handle the idea Chat Icon f'cking disgusting!

The FACT that 5 years later we are nowhere near having any tougher gun laws because of all the cry babies whining over their second amendment rights is deplorable.

And I agree, it will happen again. Too many crazies in this world with access to guns because of the NRA.

I think we all need to face the unfortunate fact that gun laws wont change. If 20 dead kindergartener's didn't change the law I don't think anything will.

And there is the big picture. The federal government, BY LAW, (Let that sink in. BY LAW) is not allowed to study gun violence.

We have laws in place that will NOT allow the study of gun violence.

Obama said that by studying (I think it was..) car deaths? Seat belt? something like that....he said by being able to study the deaths and patterns the government was able to improve car safety and save lives.

HOWEVER because there are laws in place that will not even allow the STUDY of gun violence there is practically nothing they can do.

And don't hold your breath with this president. NOTHING will change with both him and the GOP in power for the next 4 years MINIMUM.

And lets not forget the NRA. It is in their absolute best interest that now laws are made. It means their members can own as many as they want and the manufacturers will make tons of money. And the manufacturers pay a LOT of money to make sure no laws are made.

So I am not holding my breath. Nothing will change.

Sadly I agree. I feel like the only defense we have is much tighter security in schools. As sad as that sounds.

Re: Newtown Documentary

I just read An unseen angel a book written by the mother of a child who died at Sandy Hook. The book has broken me. My eyes are so swollen from the amount of sobbing I did. I think every parent should read it it will change the way you live life with your kids. When I think about law makers doing nothing about gun laws after this I become physical my ill. They should be so ashamed of themselves.
