cost of girl scout cookies $5.00 a box for certain type
prices vary depending on your zip code. NY is like California is very $$.
I was shocked when I decided to buy from the troop outside of shoprite.
I just read an article on line about the cost :(
I know its a good cause, but the boxes like everything else are smaller and if they keep increasing the price, one box is all I'll buy if I continue to buy

I don't really have a problem with the price. I think it is appropriate since it is a fundraiser as well. What I really think is ridiculous is the Boy Scouts popcorn. $25 for a small bag of not so good popcorn. That is a rip off, but I still support, even if I'm grumbling under my breath lol.

I've lost interest in Girl Scout cookies. The only ones I like are the thin mints and when I buy them I end up finishing the box in a day & just feeling gross afterward. Plus they're overpriced of course. And I'm not a huge fan of the Girl Scout organization in general. I don't know anyone who sells them but I'd only buy if someone really close to me was selling.

In CT, all boxes are $5 except for the specialty ones that are $6. I didn't realize they're different prices by state.

yes and someone in another troop asked why they were 3.25 in her nieces group. They are inthe middle of the country somewhere lo.
So we questioned and the answer we got, was that a portion of that goes to fund the CT offices. CT has the most and biggest GS offices and *i think* they said $1 of each box goes tot he offices, part go to the troop and of course to make and produce them

For something that happens once a year, a small increase isn't really a big deal to me.
It's pretty much the same price as a box of cookies at the store that aren't on sale.

If anyone wants to order them online (in case you don't know a girl scout!), Here is a link. OR you can order a box for $4.00 for our soliders overseas. You do have to pay shipping, and it's through USPS and about $9.99 for up to 6 boxes I believe. If you order for soldiers, no shipping charge! They come in a few days as per my relatives that ordered already! link

Yup depends on the area and type.
Ours are $4 for both. Our s'mores are the sandwich version and still only 4. But council sold out since we could ship anywhere.
Nebraska is the dipped chocolate version and also only $4. I got connections. Buying a few boxes shortly. :)

For those that don't know, you can give them money and they send the cookies to the troops. I think that's awesome.

Those are so good! We are selling the non chocolate covered and I bought two boxes of choco dipped ones from my friend's niece in MA. I think I need more!! I like them better than the ones we are selling (sandwich ones)

I was a GS and remember when the boxes were bigger and the price was lower. I am saddened that the boxes have gotten smaller and price has gone up in small amounts. My DH jokes that its only a matter of time before they will just make 1 giant cookie and charge a $1.50 each and have only 5 cookies per box.
