First book they can read on their own
My daughter is just starting to read. She recognizes some words and can also sound out new simple words. What are some good easy books to encourage her to read it herself?

First book they can read on their own
My son is in kindergarten and really like the "Elephant and Piggie" series by Mo Willems. Simple, easy words and he thinks they're funny lol

First book they can read on their own
My dd is in kindergarten and is now reading. They did an author study on Todd Parr and she just loves his books so much. Many to choose from. Repetitive words and great themes in esch one

Re: First book they can read on their own
If you go to any bookstore, there will be a first readers section with paperback books.
DD enjoyed a frozen book & Biscuit books. Morris the moose is funny but harder. There is a Jane and **** (ETA: *ick... OMG, it used to be a common name) collection that goes stepwise for reading. It's good and repetitive. Bob books are the easiest, but my kids were never able to get through them (very boring).

First book they can read on their own
My sons love Piggie and Elephant - my older DS can read it and my younger DS has it memorized.
Todd Parr is also good as a previous poster mentioned.

Re: First book they can read on their own
Also if you go to your local library they should have all the children's booked group by reading level/color- start with the lowest level and those should be a great start for her.

First book they can read on their own
My 4yo likes the early step into reading books. The first level is preschool and kindergarten and with practice she does well with them. Ducks in muck and the Berenstain bears go in and out are two off the top of my head.
