Reception Hall Recs for New Years Eve
Looking for any reviews/comments, etc for the following places to do New Years Eve w/ DH and some friends. We usually do house parties but this year want to go out and dance/drink and enjoy a dinner..
Wondering which of the following would you pick, I can't decide as they all have almost the same menu and within similar price ranges.
1. Fox Hollow - Woodbury 2. Jericho Terrace 3. Chateau La Mer - Lindenhurst 4. Watermill in Smithtown
If there are others I can add to this list, please suggest! TYIA!
Edited to fix Watermill's name, always think its Windmill, lol!

Re: Reception Hall Recs for New Years Eve
I've never been for NYE's but I have been to weddings at a few.
I can tell you that Jericho Terrace was not good. I felt the service was terrible and the food was not great.
1 and 4 are both Scotto Brother's I believe so you really can't go wrong there. I have been to weddings at both- both fabulous.

Re: Reception Hall Recs for New Years Eve
We have done Villa Lombardi's a few times. I liked it there. We tried Land's end once for NYE - and it was a no go. food was terrible, which was odd- bc we have a dinner there every year and the food is always great. I think it was just the volume of people and lack of staff that night maybe. Our lobster was ice cold when we got it. the next year we went back to Villa Lombardi's.
ETA - we got married at CLM just over five years ago... loved it back then, but since then i have heard its changed and not the same food wise or service wise, so not too sure about that place. it stinks bc i always wanted to go back there for a NYE too.

I agree w/ PP about Fox Hollow and Watermill (Right, not Windmill?)- both have really good food. I like the overall decor of both too.
Haven't been to Chateau La Mer in years and haven't ever been to JT.

I'd take into consideration proximity to where you live. Even if you are ubering or taking a taxi, the less time getting there and home is always a plus.

Was just going to edit my post to say this - between Fox Hollow and Watermill, I'd pick which ever is closer to home (unless you want to stay over - then you could book a room at Fox Hollow)

I'd pick whichever is closest to home, but also try to avoid Jericho Terrace.

Re: Reception Hall Recs for New Years Eve
I voted CLM because I've enjoyed the food there in the past. But like PPs have stated, I'd maybe stick to closer to home
Also, we did a catering hall on NYE once and it just felt like we were at a strangers wedding lol we took up most of a table. There were quite a few of us, but we all decided it wasn't for us

Yes thats what DH is saying- we are in N.Bellmore so JT would be the closest but mixed reviews..ehh..DH says Fox Hollow is the most expensive of the rest so we should nix them for that..But still, want to see whether the price is worth it . Last time I went to CLM was for the LIW TWOTY event yeeeaarrs ago so I have no idea how service/food are now..

Agree about location. I feel like NYE food is always a little disappointing.

I think Sand Castle in Franklin Squate and Chateau Briand in Westbury also do NYE. They might be closer to you and other options. We got married at SC and I thought the food was good (but of course every bride thinks the food is good at their wedding lol)

DH and I have been to Fox Hollow and Watermill for NYE. Both had great DJs but we like the food at Watermill better.

I've never been to any of them for NYE, but I know the band playing at the Watermill. They are awesome!

I did a NYE at Jericho Terrace once. It was fine. IMO they will all be the same. They are packed but we had not issues getting drinks and food.

I would pick whatever is closest to home; I feel like they will all have similar parties.

Just went to a party at Watermill on Saturday and everything was delicious. The bartender was so much fun and kept the drinks flowing all night. They got my vote.

The sterling bought CLM so not sure how it is, but I had my daughters sweet 16 at sterling and it was great but not sure CLM how they are doing things there. although someone I know got married there in May and said CLM was great.

Oh sandcastle is the BEST, I was just saying about the sands because another poster said they think brides always think the food is great at their own wedding.I thought the food at my first wedding was awful. The sand castle is the only place I ever called and complimented the food and service after the wedding
