I think most educated people know this, no? Its just not cool what is there to argue?
The reason to discuss is that it still seems like a double standard to me, that one first lady can be made fun of for her looks because she's white and there is no history behind a negative knock at her appearance, and the other cannot. I saw other posts where people commented about Michelle's appearance that were not racial history related, and still were scolded for mocking her looks. I just don't think it's fair.

Of course I realize that would be the response to my statement. Sometimes people do think others resemble animals, however, that does not mean the person who said it actually intended it from a racial standpoint. In the thread about Michelle, when another poster who was tall (and not black) said she was called an ape for being tall, she was told it was that she was grasping at straws saying that it a comparison to an animal may not be intended as a racial slur.
and that poster agreed she was grasping at straws..
That said, I make it a point not to talk about Melania's looks because while I'll happily tear apart any celebrity, I've never done it to any First Lady and I'm not going to start now. Besides, it's her husband I hate, not her.
Oh please. No one has ever compared Michelle Obama to an ape because of her height.
And while I would love to dish on Melania's looks, I am going to refrain as well going forward. I would not trade places with her for all the money in the world.
I agree with this...speaking of all the money in the world...I think she did not bargain for her new position in the least..I don't think she married him for more than all the Chanel and gold walls she could live with....

I have to be honest, I don't think his wife is any great beauty either.
I know everyone gushes over her like she is some gorgeous goddess, but I saw her on the cover of some mag at the check out line this weekend and she is downright scary to look at IMO.
I am not sure what her original face looked like, maybe she was a stunner back in the day?
But for a woman in her mid 40s she has had WAY WAY WAYYY too much work done and I find her very unattractive, almost mantastic to be honest
I don't think she's ever been beautiful. She's always had those squinty eyes and always looks like she's pi$$ed at something (although that's probably true - being married to cheeto man)
Even before all her plastic surgery I've always thought she looked like a drowned rat. I don't get her being a model.
I find Melania attractive.
Now let's see if someone said that Michelle Obama was unattractive and said she looked like some kind of animal. This thread would get nasty then.

I truly never thought to comment on a first lady's appearance. I mean, it's not a beauty contest. I have commented on their taste and fashion however. But Melania was/is a model, has clearly had many many plastic surgeries, and has revealed a lot of skin. So she has invited attention to and commentary on her appearance IMO. Don't put it out there if you don't want people to look. I don't feel sorry for her one bit.
That said, I find her tough to look at with her pulled back skin and squinty eyes. Looks a little like the cat lady.
