I completely agree his wife is hard to look at and no stunner. She's had so much work done her face looks bloated, like an inflated balloon. My comment was mainly referring to people who criticized Bill and Hillary's marriage of convenience, meanwhile it's not like this trout face and his plastic wife are together because they fell head over heels for each other.

Others may find her stunning.
I think Michelle Obama is attractive- not over the top gorgeous but I find her well put together, I love her hair and her clothing style. She is more natural looking and that is the look I find more attractive on a woman vs. overly fake and plastic. Just my personal preference.
And I am NOT a fan of Obama's politics by any means.
But one has nothing to do with the other.

Calling a white person a rat has never been an anti white racial slur as far a I know.
Calling a black person that particular animal you are referring to has been and still IS considered a racial slur.
Huge difference IMO
Apples and oranges.
You don't have to like a person's looks. But racial slurs are a whole other story

You are correct. There is a history of the analogy that was used about Michelle. Same with the reason behind the BLM - there is history of racism behind the need for a movement. But from what I read by the alt right and white supremacists they dont see a difference and dont get it.
For the record I dont like calling anyone out based on their appearance but i admit i am guilty of it on the celebrity board once in a while

Sometimes people do think others resemble animals, however, that does not mean the person who said it actually intended it from a racial standpoint. In the thread about Michelle, when another poster who was tall (and not black) said she was called an ape for being tall, she was told it was that she was grasping at straws saying that it a comparison to an animal may not be intended as a racial slur.

Its not fair and its not a double standard. We havent moved far enough away from the negative treatment of blacks yet. Civil rights movement was only 1 generation ago.

And while I would love to dish on Melania's looks, I am going to refrain as well going forward. I would not trade places with her for all the money in the world.

I think most educated people know this, no? Its just not cool what is there to argue?
The reason to discuss is that it still seems like a double standard to me, that one first lady can be made fun of for her looks because she's white and there is no history behind a negative knock at her appearance, and the other cannot. I saw other posts where people commented about Michelle's appearance that were not racial history related, and still were scolded for mocking her looks. I just don't think it's fair.
If I said I thought Michelle was ugly, had too much surgery, had a bad hair style, had a terrible wardrobe and a bad body, I would be attacking her looks, not her race.
If I called her an ape, that is attacking her race.
