Since I am going to try to be fair and objective ...

Following it a little. This is not a surprise to me. It was clear all along that Debbie Wasserman Shultz was going to do everything in her power and beyond to make sure Hillary got the nomination. I still don't think Bernie would have won but that doesn't make it right.

I really, really want to find a reason to support Hillary but I feel like she had to know what was going on.

Re: Hillary and the shady DNC and Bernie

I briefly skimmed this topic, but I'm sure the RNC was no better. Also it is thought that Russian hackers got this info, and Russia wants Trump to win.

The bottom line is Hillary got the votes, as did Trump (shudder). If I see an email that says the DNC changed votes, then maybe I'd think differently.

Sanders was an independent before this election. So I see it as the DNC was supporting Hillary because, duh she's the democrat candidate?

But the DNC leadership is supposed to be impartial! That is their fundamental mandate. I don't care why this info was leaked, it is the truth.

Perhaps Hillary would not have gotten as many votes as she did without their interference and bias?! Despite their bias, it was very close. Look at their rallies, HE had millions of people's support. Who knows how much of an impact this could have had.

If you actually read the emails, it is very very bad - like planning to bring Bernie's religion or lack of to the forefront in order to turn off voters. That is disgusting and reprehensible!!!

As for the argument that Sanders was an independent before the election- so what? It's not like being a democrat is genetic. I can join the democratic party and boom, I'm a democrat. Why can't he? He ran on the democratic ticket. I think that is a non-issue and the DNC leadership, particularly Debbie, is COMPLETELY wrong and should resign immediately.

And I want the money I donated to Bernie's campaign returned, since the deck was unfairly stacked against him and they knew it all along. The most pathetic thing about this to me is Bernie has the better chance of beating Trump than HRC. The DNC has shot themselves in the foot big time.

I made my own decision to vote for Hillary. I was not biased in any way. He had millions of people's support, but he didn't win. That's the bottom line.

I understand you wanting your money back, but I really see no evidence of how the DNC stole votes. People can think for themselves and vote for themselves. I don't see the emails as "really, really bad."

This Wikileaks is unfortunate, but I'm starting to see parallels between Bernie supporters and Trump supporters, sorry.

I understand you were not influenced by the DNC to vote for HRC. I never said that every person who voted for her was. I also never said they literally stole votes. There isn't evidence that they actually did that.

But I believe some people may have been influenced, and we don't know how many. I also believe the main stream media presented information in a biased fashion favoring HRC and I couldn't begin to quantify the impact of that. I would bet the DNC, HRC herself or her foundation had something to do with that.

Bottom line is what the DNC did was WRONG and misleading and unethical. I stand by my opinion that it was "really really bad." It's like a judge being biased in a case. You might agree with their bias, but you acknowledge it's just wrong in their role as a judge.

And I rarely give a flying crap what is said on LIF, but you equating me and other Sanders supporters to Donald Trump supporters is really ludicrous. No need for you to apologize, but really? Give me a break. Chat Icon

I guess it's a matter of semantics, but I said I'm STARTING to see parallels; there was never any equating.

It's so laughable that Hillary thinks Bernie Sander's followers were ever going to get behind her. But now? No chance...

The assertion is that the Russians really want trump as president and will likely be releasing more.

No one is surprised.. But it's still so disheartening.

Definitely.

But in the Republicans' case- the party bigwigs did not want Trump and they ultimately allowed what the people wanted to prevail. I'd love to see the emails that were going around though, on how they'd get Jeb! or Marco Rubio or Kasich in there.

And I do think the Russians want Trump to win.

Me too.

And for the most part, it's disgusting how the Democratic Party prides itself on being so much better than the republicans and more ethical and honest and they are no better.

. Honestly, any monies donated after April when NY voted should never have been collected. He knew mathematically at that point it was over and I do feel like he pulled one over on his supporters. He can legally get all the money for himself and does not have to turn it over to the DNC or any local elections either. His wife got a college to close after bleeding it dry. If you think for one second that he did not know what he was doing, he knew exactly what he was doing. His campaign took money from the people who could least afford it under the pretense they were a viable candidate until the very last second.

It has been obvious from the start that Debbie Wasserman Shultz wanted Hillary to win. There was no semblance of impartiality. I find the whole thing disgusting, and I am ecstatic that DWS has stepped down.

That being said. I do not know if Hillary knew what was happening behind the scenes. I am not a Hillary fan, unfortunately the alternative (Trump) actually makes me terrified. This election cycle has been really depressing already and it is only July. I might need a therapist by November

There were plenty of plans to change the rules at the last minute (which they have done in the past as well), force votes to squash dissenting opinions, etc. "The People" did not get their voices heard at the RNC, either. The louder people in charge got what they wanted.

The RNC and DNC are not "for the people". They are private organizations, unaffiliated with the government. They aren't impartial, they can do whatever they want, whenever they want, and have done over and over again.

I'm just glad that this election cycle is showing some of the behind-the-scenes games that are being played by both parties.

I really do believe the Russians had a hand in this and want Trump to win. It's no coincidence that these emails were leaked right before the DNC.

I really hope Bernie's supporters will vote for Hillary because having Trump win will be more detrimental in every possible way for a long time than having the Dems playing favorites. I hope people will be able to separate the two.

To be fair and objective... All the Hillary supporters and workers keep saying this happened but we need to get over it and unite and yadda yadda

Out of all the possible scandals to hit, it has to be an email one. Another unsecured or vulnerable server. It's like no one learns.

ITA. I was a big Bernie supporter, and still feel he is the best person for the job. But I realized I need to put my disgust aside and support Hillary. I find it really hard to believe she didn't know what DWS was up to. I have been a lifelong Democrat but if Kasich was the Republican nominee I would probably vote for him even though I disagreed with him on a lot. But Trump is downright unfit to be president, and that puts our country in danger.
