40th birthday "gift" for the girl who has everything.
I need a "gift" idea. One of my closest friend's 40th birthday party is this week. She is literally "the girl who has everything". A few months ago she asked that in lieu of birthday gifts, we donate to her team for cycle for survival, which was founded by a woman she grew up with. I gave a generous donation which she acknowledged. Her party invitation said, "No gifts, please" but I feel funny showing up empty handed. I will get a card, but is there some small token I could bring? A book? A frame? I'm at a loss. I'd love something small, but meaningful.

If she really wants no gifts, but you still want to give something, how about a really beautiful picture frame with a picture of the two of you in it?

Honestly, don't make HER feel funny because YOU feel funny. How do you think she will feel if you show up tot he party with a gift after she asked you not to bring one?
Get her a bouquet of flowers. That would be lovely. Otherwise, nothing.
