cleaning a BBQ grill ?, how does everyone clean
the grill. I scrub it down after cooking, while its hot, but its not bright and clean the way I want it.
What does everyone use or technique do you use ?
Mine is a gas grill
I would like to clean it without chemicals.

Re: cleaning a BBQ grill ?, how does everyone clean
i don't have a grill, right now.
when i had one, i would use one of those grill brushes and elbow grease... right after turning it off. then when it cooled, i would use a paste of baking soda and the scrubby side of the sponge.
i liked the results.
ps, there was a bit of elbow grease used... but i didn't mind because i wasn't using chemicals.

Not sure how "clean" you're looking to get it.
basically if you have SS grates, they won't shine after use, they will blacken. my grates and grill are 11 years old...they're basically black throughout.
I don't clean after use really. I heat up super hot when I start grilling, which breaks down the stuff attached, then brush with a grill brush.
Every once in a while (like 2-5 times per year), I pull the grates and flavorizer bars off and scrape out the inside with a putty knife to remove the build up. I'll also clean the grates as before then wash them inside. I'm not entirely sure whether this is to just make me feel good or if I'm actually doing anything.
