Wedding INvitation Question
So I rec'd a save the date for a wedding end of May. I still have yet to get invitation. When do they usually send them out?
Also, I never got invited to shower. I noticed so much stuff purchased from registry so was kind of surprised.
My mother in law in same boat.
What do you think??

How close are you to the couple getting married? Do you know anyone else attending the wedding besides your mother in law that you can ask? I know some people can't afford to have everyone invited to the wedding at the shower and they make it a smaller family party. However, I don't know why you haven't received a wedding invite. I would assume the latest it could come is this week.

Yes, I agree about the shower. I was ok with not going but shocked because its first cousins to my husband.
I thought maybe we were pushed to the "B" list. LOL

typically invites for weddings go out 8 weeks before..so its end of may they should have gone out end of march. Maybe its on its way.
but the shower thing is weird unless they are just keeping it small.

Yes, weird it's my father in law sister. The cousin (30ish) getting married. We will see what happens.
I have not seen him in years & never met the fiance, but they mailed save the date. Yes, maybe this week.

I didn't invite everyone to my shower so I don't find that strange. I'm sure the invite is on its way soon!

I understand that I was not invited.
My mom in law should have been.
My father in law is brother/sister with Mom of the groom.

Definitely kind f late for a save the date. I know there were some people I didn't invite to my shower because we are not that close and I didn't want them to feel obligated to get a gift, so that I can understand, but a save the date at this point seems a little strange

I wouldn't get upset about not being invited to the shower. One less gift to give.
Give the wedding invite another week or so. After that I would ask about it since you have the save the date.

I agree about the invite - probably will come this week.
I also don't see why your MIL wasn't invited to the shower. That to me is strange.

We're invited to a wedding the 3rd weekend in May and still haven't received an invite but I know she hasn't sent them out yet.

some people send out the invites around 6 weeks before. I would think the first week of April is when she'd send them out

I would say the invites should be going out within the next few weeks, I am going to a wedding in early June and just got the invite this past week. As for the shower I know typically it's close family and friends, maybe they are trying to keep it small.
