8-month old won't eat off spoon but can't feed herself

My 8 month old used to be a pretty good eater, then started refusing all baby food from a spoon except her oatmeal and mashed bananas.

We tried little bitty finger foods last night for late lunch and she LOVED it. Avocado, cubed steamed sweet potato, smushed halves of blueberry, etc. Zero screaming. She usually screams if it's not mixed with banana. I have to pick up the bits though and feed them to her. She won't eat them off a spoon, and unfortunately she doesn't pick them up and put them in her mouth herself.

So, wwyd: For daycare, do I keep trying purees and I have a shot of her eating because the teachers can feed her with a spoon, or do I send the finger food bits? I don't think the teacher will feed her directly with her hands (not that I want that anyway...) And she isn't eating enough those days and wakes up in the middle of the night like 4 times, 2x to eat sometimes! Hmm.

Send both. She won't starve herself.

If she is responding to the bits of food id stick with that. Try looking up Baby Led Weaning books. Some babies just prefer it.

I'd send both. By 8 months, DS was eating like 90-95% table food. She should be able to feed herself soon.
