kudos to anyone who goes back to school. updated test over whos got bloody marys!!
I've been studying for a state exam as i mentioned in a pp, and let me tell you, at 40 I find it near impossible to sit for more than 30 (20?) minutes and review anything. Plus there is no study guide so i'm winging it.
I think anyone who goes back to school to study (at this age) is amazing. I have no patience.
Update test over, pretty sure i passed. Thanks for the good wishes! I feel like having a bloody mary!

kudos to anyone who goes back to school
I'm going back for my second masters degree and doing it online. It's much harder with a full-time job and a 4-year-old than it was the first time around at age 24 working part-time!

Agreed! I went back to school 8 years ago to get my graphic design certificate. That was only 6 courses that I had to take and while I enjoyed the classes, doing homework and turning in final projects was for the birds! I was glad I did it, but man....I am happy I graduated college already!

I went back when I was older for my Masters and it was hard. I do love going to school though

I went back to get my masters online when I was about 38 and it was tough. I hadn't worked for longer than 5 years because I was sahm. I remember having to re read everything because I was out of focus, and writing was very difficult, even though I had to write a lot in college and work years.  it's great what you are doing!!! GL!

Good luck! I also went for my master's while working FT and it was tough. Looking back I don't know how I did it... that was before I had kids though.. I definitely don't know how I could do it now!

I dropped out of the "real world" and went to law school when I was 30 - but I was so lucky that I was able to quit my job and go to school full time. I always said I don't know how people work full time and go to school at night - It really takes a lot of dedication. Good luck to you!

I have no degree. But I went back for awhile (until I got pregnant) and honestly loved it. I found the most annoying part was that I *KNEW* I'd really not use any of it in the real world. LOL
I still go to classes for my certificates and its 3 intense 8hour days .. whew. One more to go and I'll be done.
I just can't motivate to go back to college. To me, it's utterly useless and such a waste of money. When I did go my company paid as long as I kept decent grades. I left when that stopped and I was honor society. LOL

I also went to law school in my 30s. I actually loved it. I worked til 3pm. would use the time in between work and class for homework or gym or even naps and then had classes M - Th 6-10. It just becomes your normal. I didn't have my son at the time but 1/2 the class were parents.
I never could have done it right after undergrad. I did't have the discipline.

Hang in there, you can do it!! I went back for my RN and BSN...just graduated in December and I am 40 PLUS 3 kids PLUS full time job...it is for the birds. When I think of going back for my Masters I just say WHYYYY would I even think it? LOL; but I prob. still will.
