putting wish list information on a party invitation
My daughter is in kindergarten, and we are inviting her entire class. We only know 2 families out of the 16 kids that are invited.
Would it be obnoxious to put the link to her Amazon wish list at the bottom of the party invite?
I have never even done a wishlist before.
I was just trying to make it easier for the parents.
Or, do I wait for them to ask me for gift ideas as opposed to putting down link?

While it's theoretically a really good idea, it just isn't proper etiquette. However, if someone asks what to get her, definitely direct them to the wishlist!

Dont do it. I have found when people RSVP they almost always ask what they would like for their birthday.

Definitely don't do it. You never mention gifts ("books only please", etc) on an invitation to strangers. I rarely get people asking me what my child would like. Thankfully most include gift cards or gift receipts, but I have found that Target and Toys R Us will exchange with no receipts.

DW and I LOVE when people put out a wishlist. It makes our lives so much easier. Why force your guests to have to ask individually what the wishlist is, and then, if it's over the phone, you have to get a pen and paper, and write down the address. It's just so much easier if it's on a paper or evite.

Don't put it in the invite. Set up the wishlist and if someone asks, direct them to it.

I didn't for my DD's bday party with her friends but I ALWAYS give my family her Wish List info. It would be a nightmare if I didn't, we have way too much family buying for her. But anyway, I wouldn't put it on the invite for school friends just because so many people seem to get their nose twisted over it. If someone by chance asks for ideas then you can direct them to it.
ETA - I actually think it's so stupid that anyone would be bothered by Wish List info on an invite. Why do we "pretend" like gifts aren't part of a bday party when we ALL know EVERYONE brings the birthday child a gift? It's kind of dumb that we act like it's in poor taste. I WISH people gave Wish List info on invites, ESPECIALLY school friends, because I don't always know them and who the heck knows what they have, want, or like. I'd rather KNOW instead of wasting my money on something they won't get use out of.
