Has anyone seen these?
We've been talking about them all week at work.. none of us actually think we'd use it (rewashing, no thanks), but i'm curious to see if anyone else has seen or tried them.

The advertising is what caught my eye actually. It's all over Grand Central and Union Square Stations

Re: Thinx period underwear

So wait, this doesn't replace tampons or pads- it's just a backup in case you leak? Or like when you first start your period and don't realize it?

Eh, not for me

They SAY its to replace.

I don't see that ever happening. AS a TMI

TMI-ish...

So you are work for 8 hours. I have to change my tampon every 4. So does that mean you wear this on the heaviest flow days, then bring a back up pair and put your "soiled" undies in a plastic bag and carry them around with you till you can wash them?

Um, no.

Re: Thinx period underwear

So this is what the site says:

SO, WAIT...

Do these replace tampons and pads?

USE AS YOU CHOOSE!

THINX definitely eliminates the need for panty liners, and will make a great back up to your tampon or menstrual cup. Some do choose to wear THINX on its own, but no one knows your flow better than you, so you’ll be the best judge of what works!

"I start wearing my THINX when I think I'm getting close to starting… My first day or so is pretty light, so I'll wear them on those days with nothing else. Then once it gets heavier, I wear a tampon and THINX, but that's usually only a couple days, then for the last few days that are light, I do just THINX again."
- Erica S

So I am thinking that it's not meant to replace a tampon or pad- except maybe on light flow days.
Even still....um, ,nah

Eeeewww. No thanks. Chat Icon

And that's too much work, I have to rinse them out (gross), then wash and line dry??? I'll just stick with my regular underwear, tampons, and liners........that just seems easier to me.

I would not wear them alone but I would def wear them with a tampon or pad because I have a terribly heavy period. Like I need to run to the bathroom at work sometimes and I have leaked through my pants. It's god awful. If these would stop that, I'd be into it.

This! Never alone because that is just disgusting. But with a tampon as a safety net (mostly for peace of mind) - yes! Although I didn't check out the price point, so a lot depends on that!

Haha how about the red tampons on the site that show you how much blood each type holds? I loled at that.

I have a heavy period so I guess I could see something to catch spills from my tampon, but they lose me on the line drying.

I dont think the concept of this product is much different than the underwear they show on TV for women with bladder control problems.
