Have to get rid of my Lion King tickets
My husband bought us tickets to go to the Lion King this Weds at 7pm and we just realized the theater has a 4yr old minimum age policy so we can't bring our daughter... I have to sell the 3 tickets, if anyone is interested please let me know. So sad we can't go :(

There's no way to get a babysitter for the night?

Is there anyway she can pass for 4 yrs old? I'm sure they don't check the DOB.

If I can't sell them, we may just go without her or I'll go with a friend. But I saw it already (& loved it!) so I rather wait to see it again as a family like we had wanted.

I'm nervous because I don't know how strict they are. She's only 2.5 and on the smaller side, she def doesn't look like she's 4...I don't want to get all excited, have my husband take 1/2 day off of work, travel into the city and then not be allowed in :(
I wish we realized it sooner...When we bought the tickets my husband noticed it said recommended for ages 6+ but DD is mature and enjoys shows, she will def sit quietly and watch. Last night at work I told a coworker about it and she mentioned most theaters have age policies, I didn't realize that...

can you call the theater? I'd ask how strict they are about it.

I tried calling tonight, but it was too late they were closed. I'm going to try again in the morning.

Have to get rid of my Lion King tickets
My friend took her son to see Aladdin and he's 2.5. Their website recommends 6 and up. I think it more depends on the kid and how well behaved they'll be.
Our dd is 2.5 and she'll sit through a whole show and has seen many. Granted not Broadway. I wouldn't want to risk it either unless I knew for sure they'd let her in.

I get that it's Broadway, but it's a Disney production. I could understand them enforcing it if you took her to see Hamilton or Book of Mormon, but it's based on a movie geared toward children. I think you'll be ok to take her.

I think the issue is that it's hard for little kids to sit for 3 hours, and when other patrons are paying big money for Broadway, they don't want any issues. Disney on Ice, sure, a Broadway Show at 7pm for a child under 4? Eh, you know your child best, but I get why there are rules.
How old is your child OP?

If you're confident she'll sit well, I'd bring her. Carry her in so people can't see how small she is. If she gets upset, just take her out of the theater. I'd venture to say they won't kick you out. And if they say anything about her being too young, just play dumb. It's worth a shot. I think you'll be fine.

If you think she'd sit for it, I'd take her anyway. If they ask, say she's 4. They're not going to argue with you. Half the time those people wouldn't know a two year old from a four year old.

Exactly this. I've seen a lot of Disney shows on Broadway. There are always a bunch of young kids. It's expected with a Disney show. I don't think anyone will ask.

My daughter is 2.5 but loves shows (has seen many on vacations not geared for kids at all) and will definitely sit quietly and watch it. She also doesn't go to bed until 9/9:30 but will happily stay up later if we let her haha so I'm not worried about the time.

Re: Have to get rid of my Lion King tickets
There is a way to reschedule. If you think you could get a babysitter another night and could sell one ticket, Aladdn and Lion King have a reschedule policy....you pay a fee per ticket, but better than losing them completely. I think it has to be done more than 2 hours before.

Have to get rid of my Lion King tickets
UPDATE!
I finally got a hold of someone at the theatre and he said kids come all the time and it shouldn't be a problem at all. They put the age restriction because they don't want young kids that would be disruptive but if I feel she will be ok we won't be denied entry. Yay!!! So we're going to go!
