anyone else watching racing extinction on the animal channel ( on now)
I stumbled across it. Its so sad how many animals, mammals etc we are losing to extinction yearly..
added, its all at the hand of US humans for our own selfish wants!! not needs but wants
WE cut fins off of nurse sharks and throw them back in the water. They are unable to swim and die as they drown. IT pisses me off
We cut tusks off elephants and leave them to die!!!
http://racingextinction.com/ take a look at this site. I call on all Lifam posters to take the challenge or #startwith1thing
needed to vent..
added: to all the mommies or mom's to be, your child/children's future depends on us/you making a change now, as their futures depend on all of us.
All of our futures depend on making a change now.

My husband was watching it the other day. It was very sobering look at our current environmental situation.

We watched this on demand last night. It was the most depressing thing I think I've ever watched. It's just crazy what we're doing to this world.
I'm trying to start with one vegan dinner a week as our one thing although it seems so inconsequential. I hope others will take the challenge and share more ideas for inspiration.

Dh had it on and i begrudgingly watched. As if I need more reason to boycott China. I've added a few more like Vietnam, Japan and Indonesia to the list. I refuse to support those countries contributing to this horror show.
I love the just one thing idea. Hope people really pay attention before it's too late.
I've been urging dh to get off meat for a long time. He may have decreased consumption by 5%. It's an uphill battle.

191 read this post and 4 reply, I find that very sad considering how so many people react over, lets say, someone not showing up on their second day of work. (just an example not taking a stab at anyone) or when Cecil the lion was killed This issues has a major impact on everyone... I will be taking the challenge

I watched it. It is heartbreaking. As a vegan, I feel like I should be doing even more than just not eating animal products... it doesn't feel like enough anymore.

I think it's great that you are going to do that! I hope lots of people do it too. There are SO many vegan alternatives for just about everything these days!

I also stopped wearing anything with animal products: down, leather, angora...there are so many great vegan products, people just have to consciously STOP buying cruelty.
I saw a woman on the train last week wearing a fur collar. She was young, looked like a model actually. Why do people still think that's ok?? I seriously had to fight myself not to scream in her face to give that fur back to the animal who owns it.

I bought a pair of shoes a few weeks ago and had to bring them back today due to an issues. The store clerk said, these shoes have lots of give they are made out of cow hide. I will say it felt as if I was stabbed with a knife. I said to the clerk, that was hard to hear. He said sorry, would it sound better if I say horse hide. I said no, I ride horses :(
