Cablevision cost question
I pay $165 and have the phone, Internet and all the movie channels. I am thinking about canceling the movie package and just want plain/basic cable like MTV, bravo, and hsgtv.
Does anyone have this package and can you tell me what you pay?
*i used to pay $145 and then the year was up and the price went up. I tried negotiating with them and they wouldn't budge. I feel like it's way too much and a waste.

Cablevision cost question
I've tried downgrading like this and it somehow comes out to more. Not sure how but I think it's because we lose a certain discount or something. It's all a bunch of bull.

You should definitely call Cablevision back and ask for a promotion, for the last few years when my promotion runs out I call them and ask for the current promotion. My bill has only increased each year by $5 or $6. If the customer service person can't help you request to speak with someone who can make decisions.

I just called cable actually and was able to lower my bill by a lot. I told them I was paying too much and I wanted to figure out a way to lower my bill, and I wanted to cancel my home phone to cut costs. After a very long time on the phone and a few transfers I got a $15 credit each month for phone (making phone like $5 a month) I got some custom silver package where I still get showtime but they cut out channels in the 100s that we don't need/watch, and there was a promo for HBO and STARZ for 6 mos I think.
You can call and renegotiate your bill or ask for promotions every 6 mos I believe.
ETA:
Optimum value package $65/mo
HBO $15/mo
DVR $12/mo
3 cable boxes $21
Internet $40/mo
Phone $16/mo
My total bill is around $180 with the feex/taxes/bs charges. It was around $220

Cablevision cost question
I just have basic package with phone, cable, and internet, no fancy channels and my bill with all taxes and fees each month is 113.02

I'm STILL paying too much lol. You have optimum? How do you get all the movie channels for that price? I was paying like $240 when I had all the channels

I WISH mine was only $165! I only have 2 boxes and the silver package and I pay $190/mo!

Try Fios.
I Pay 134 for 3 TV's HD Multiroom DVR, HBO Package, NHL Channel, and thats after taxes and fees.

Cablevision cost question
I was paying $200 for all the bells and whistles. We downgraded to a package without the movie channels for $140 about 6 months ago. Now my bill is back to $190. I'm calling them tomorrow because I'm mad!

Damn. I'm paying way too much then. We pay $200 for HBO and Internet and (4 boxes).

Well I came from fios where I didn't have every single channel and paid $135. So I said I would switch but wouldn't pay more. And they charged me for the triple play $145 and I accepted. So a year later I guess my promotion ran out.
However about 5 years ago I paid $180 for cablevision and switched to fios for a few years at $135. So I am thinking do I have to keep switching back and forth?
It's so annoying how everyone gets a different rate and you have to waste an hour arguing with them. I am going to call.

I pay $189, I have 3 boxes plus 1 DVR not multi-room and have the silver package triple play. It infuriates me that the cable bill is so high. I know I can always downgrade my service but why does it have to be so expensive. I don't want to have to play the game of switching from Cablevision to FIOS.

I pay $189 for internet, phone, cable. Only have 1 dvr box and not even all the movie channels (I have HBO and showtime but not cinemax). I've tried calling and threatened to switch to verizon if they didn't give me some sort of discount. The guy basically laughed at me because the FIOS high speed internet isn't in my area yet; so if I did switch it's dish for tv and verizon dsl for internet. He sounded so smug. I hate cablevision. I've tried downgrading but then it ends up costing more because you don't get the package price or some nonsense.
