LIRR YOU CANT MAKE THIS S!$@ UP!!
I'm on a crowded am train right now. I'm standing.
Young woman gets up at stop. I go to sit down in the 4 seater. The guy in the the seat WILL NOT close his legs so anyone can sit. I had to turn around and go back to the vestibule. The young woman who got up is also there she says she had to move because the guy wouldn't move his legs and was crushing her... WTF????
I am so mad right now but will not engage an obviously crazy person.

Same thing happens on the bus. I hate when guys sit next to me.
I push back. Plant my thigh and don't move it. Might be a bit uncomfortable, but at least I have a seat.

I take the subway too. I plant myself on the seat and push back. Most get the hint! If they don't like it and its obvious they don't fit, they can stand!

I hate when guys do this. This happens to me too. If they are taking up part of your seat or your space i just put my bag next to me so it leans on them since its part of my seat. They usually get the hint.

I once told a guy - Give me a break, they are not big enough for you to take up 2 seats, close your legs.
I'm lucky he didn't punch me, I probably wouldn't say anything like that now in my old age

I didn't say anything bc it was 6 in the morning and as a general rule I don't engage strangers in conflict. I'd much rather post here lol.
but, when I got home tonite and heard about the metro north crash it makes all of this stuff seem so silly in comparison-- have to be grateful that I made it home to my family tonight.
