Stupid napping habits- am I crazy?
What time does your kid go to bed? And how old?
She has been coming home from daycare at about 4-4:30 ish, then takes a nap for anywhere between an hour or two.
This is where I may be crazy- I try and keep her up until 9:30, because if she goes to bed even one minute earlier she is up at 3 or 4am ready to party.
I feel like it is so late for her to go to bed, and I hate that nap because I want to play with her when we get home.
I am torn between trying to fix it and not knowing how, and leaving it because that is what is working for the moment, it will probably change next week.

can you let her nap for 1/2 hour so that she will be tired at 8:30-9pm?
my daughter takes a nap at 5-5:30 for 1/2 hour and is down at 9 no problem and wakes up at 7-8am. and Olivia is 8 months old

She is almost 10 months- I could let her nap for a 1/2 hour, but then I have to wake her and she is a beast!

How many naps does she take at the daycare? Any chance of pushing a nap later there, that way you can come home and play with her, and not have her nap at all when you get home?That way, she'll go down nice and early

Julia is almost 15 months, and she takes a nap at 11am-1pm, then another at 5-6:30pm. She goes down for bed at 9:30-10pm, and wakes up at 9:30am. This has been her schedule now for a while, its hard to change it.

Talia used to take a 2 hour nap from about 4-6 - so I decided to wake her after about 30-45 min of sleep. She was also a beast - but it only went on for a few days - then she was set to only nap that long and she went to bed earlier.

Her nap times vary at daycare, but no matter what she always needs the evening nap.
Jen- i tried cutting her naps short once and it never got better, I just ended up with a cranky til bedtime baby.

This is all what I learned from the Weisbluth sleep book. If she's waking at the same time everyday, she should be napping pretty regularly too. Can you ask them to be more consistent at daycare? I think by 9 months it's *supposed* to be 2 naps. If Anjali wakes (she's 9 m now) at 6:30, she naps at 9, if her nap is 1.5 hrs, she's tired again around 2ish and naps for an hour. Then her bedtime is 7ish. I'm more flexible about the 2nd nap and bedtime, but it's always within the hour, or she stays up about 3 hours in between naps and before bed.

At 9 months, we're on a similar cycle, but everything is about 2 hrs earlier, starting from waking time. I have to wake her earlier to get her to nap at 9ish, b/c I want that nap to be when my older daughter is in nursery school.

They are consistant at daycare, she is not consistant
She naps whenever she feels like it, but they try.

I sort of have the same thing.. Brianna wakes at 8:30am and naps at 10:30-11ish for an hour or two and naps again at 4 ish and for another hour or two but if I put her down any earlier than 9:30 ish she wakes up at like 11:00 to party!! Last night was awful I couldn't get her to go back to bed until 12:10 AM and I was EXAUSTED!! So now I am waiting till 9:30 - 10:ish to put het to bed.. Like right now..
