Using the potty at daycare but not at home
So we are trying to get my DC (almost 3) to start using the potty. DC has zero interest (or so I thought) and at home, when I mention it or ask says "No thank you"
I have potty that DC picked out, I have the seat that goes on the regular toilet so DC had options and could use whichever they were more comfortable with. I bought DC their favorite character underwear - nothing.
Then, the last week at school, DC report has come home with several comment about "Potty - tried" and "Potty - Wet". I asked the director about it today and she was like "yeah, DC is using the potty, I actually took DC today" I said "is DC telling you or asking you to go or is the teacher is putting DC on it just to try?"
She wasnt sure which it was, so she was going to ask and get back to me.
WTH!!!???!! LOL! All week DC has been using the potty at daycare but at home has NO interest and wont do it.
Anyway to encourage DC to get it to do at home?

Re: Using the potty at daycare but not at home
I use to babysit a little boy at his house. I was helping with potty training and he would always go for me without an issue. But he refused to go for his mother. He would fight her. And have accidents.
It would make her nuts!
I think he wanted to stay the baby with his mommy.
No real advice or tips. I just think it's typical

Don't give DC a choice at home. My DS did the same thing. we would always go for his one teacher but never for me or my DH and sometimes for his pop pop.
I finally said enough is enough and did the 3 day training and in 2 days he was trained and that was back in July. Since then we have had maybe a handful of accidents but he is completely trained.
Best thing I ever did

Re: Using the potty at daycare but not at home
No advice, but we are having the same trouble right now. I didn't really want to do the 3 day method b/c I think it would be super hard with our schedule, but I may have to. I just try to keep encouraging him at home. This weekend I'm going to take him out to buy underwear and see if that gets him excited about it.

Re: Using the potty at daycare but not at home
My son is exactly the same way. He uses the potty at school all day long but has no interest in doing so at home. I'll just keep trying to put him on and see what happens

Re: Using the potty at daycare but not at home
I didn't have the school setting, but the best thing that worked for my twins was not putting anything on them. No diaper, no undies. And lots of reinforcement. We had a "poop" grab which they filled from the dollar store. And one of my girls needed to go in her grab bag if she stayed dry all day. Good luck :)
