Question about going to the apple store today (5th ave)*******UPDATE*****
****Update***** Closed to the public. They have a "public" line but not really letting anyone in.
I get my cell through work and I am eligible for an upgrade.
I don't want to order the new Apple 6 yet until I have it in my hand. I cant decided between the 6 or 6+.
I know this sounds like an INSANE question, but do you guys think I will be able to get INTO the store on 5th? I wont stand in line JUST to get into the store, nor am I buying anything. I just want to hold the phone.
I know people are lining up to buy the phone and get the pre-orders. But I cant imagine there would be a line to go into the store for OTHER reasons, would there?
Thoughts?

im sure they have it all figured out by now and you should NOT have a problem getting in. you can also try other places that sell phones.

Most stores have a separate line for ordering, so you should be able to just go in and look at it. They will have people at the front directing traffic. But you don't have to go to an Apple store, any cell company that carries Apple products should have it.

I would not go anywhere near an apple or cell phone store today. THe line for the apple store at Grand Central is 3 blocks long and that was at 8am.
I also walked from Penn to Grand Central and every cell phone store had a huge line.

Not sure why you want to hold it (size or weight), but if it's to see the size I think there are printouts online that you can print and cut out to see what the actual size looks like.

I agree with Paramount. Avoid the Apple store at all costs! the 5th ave one is really close to where I live, and it's a zoo on a normal day

I am supposed to pick up my phone at the 5th avenue apple store today (have a reservation). The line is ridiculous. Blocks long. I may not even get it today it's that bad.

Probably a dumb question but why are people waiting on this line? I ordered the phone last night through my local Verizon retailer and it's already been delivered. I'm sure there is a reason lol.

Probably a dumb question but why are people waiting on this line? I ordered the phone last night through my local Verizon retailer and it's already been delivered. I'm sure there is a reason lol.
I ordered a plus online and it was either 7-14 days before ship or pick up at the store on launch day. The plus was very difficult to get (it's now 4-6 weeks backordered) and since they offered the pickup on launch day I took it.

Pretty sure if you get it though work, you may want to check with them as corporate accounts work different and typically handled by different people at your job and at phone vendor

It is. I order it through the office (and they pay half!).
This is SOLEY to hold it, feel it, touch it, live it. I need to have it in my hand to make the decision.

Just got my 6 plus. Waited in line for 45 mins. Not too horrific considering its their flagship Manhattan store.
