If you pierced your DD's ears when she was not an infant
How old was she? How did it go? How was the after care? Thanks!

Re: If you pierced your DD's ears when she was not an infant
My dd's pierced their ears at 4 and 5. They chose to do it then (they asked for it). My one dd was terrified and said it didn't hurt. The other one wasn't scared and was traumatized and cried hysterically. I didn't really do anything too special to care for them...used the solution they have me and turned them often. No issues at all.

DD was 26 mos and kept asking to get earrings and get her haircut. So we did just that. She was actually fine, she flinched but didn't cry. she never let me Clean them with the solution, so I just made sure to clean them, turn them during bath time. Never had a problem with them.

We did DD's at 5. She said it really didn't hurt, but she had a very bad habit of touching them and playing with them and eventually, they started bothering her because she had a slight tear at one of the holes and she let them close up.

Re: If you pierced your DD's ears when she was not an infant
I just had my girls ears pierced. They were 22 months and 3.5. They were both nagging me and I always when they asked I'd take them. We had it done at Claire's at tanger in riverhead (my pediatrician doesn't do it). My youngest screamed for maybe a minute. My oldest dd didn't even cry. We had both earrings done at the same time so there wasn't any real time for them to think about it. They were really good with having their ears cleaned. They won't let me change their earrings though so they both have their original pair in.

My daughter was 6. She did cry quite a bit more than I had anticipated. But she did fine and the aftercare was not a problem. She was over being upset almost immediately. I had always been adamant that I would wait until she was 8 or close to it because IMO that is a good age. I wanted her to be sure she wanted it. But my dad passed away somewhat suddenly and we all needed a distraction and she had been asking for months, so we got it done.

My girls were 2 when they got them done. We did the medical plastic at the dr. Negative was that they do 1 ear at a time. My older DD was fine. We had talked about it a lot beforehand. The younger DD was a little freaked, I think more because of the noise. She got through it though. Good thing about plastic is no maintenance. You just leave them.
