Moms who have/had a cerclage
I'm having a cerclage done next week and I'm so nervous about the pain. I had one with DS and it hurt pretty bad. I'm pregnant with twins this time, so it's being done much earlier before any issues come up. If you had a cerclage did you take anything for the pain? I think they gave me fentanyl with my ds, but this time I want to not take anything heavy duty like that. Hoping I can get by with just tylenol, if possible.

Re: Moms who have/had a cerclage
I had a cerclage done back in Jan- I was 20 weeks at the time. But it didnt hurt? I was already feeling alot of pressure and pain in my groin prior to the procedure. After it was done I never felt anything really down there in terms of pain. I still feel groin pain and pressure at times (I got a support belt which has helped)-but I know its just from being pregnant and not from the cerclage.
I guess take tylenol if your feeling uncomfortable. Hang in there!

I also had one at 22 weeks with twins. Mine didn't hurt either. I had a spinal for the procedure and didn't have any long-lasting pain afterwards.

Moms who have/had a cerclage
Thanks ladies!!
I'm hoping this time it's not as bad. I know my doctor places them super high, so it might have something to do with the pain. I just can't wait until it's done and over with!!

Moms who have/had a cerclage
I had one at 24.5 weeks with my twins and it hurt like he!! for two or three days. My high risk dr also placed it super high and he warned me before the surgery not to try and be strong, take the pain meds he prescribed. He prescribed Vicodin. I hated the way it made me feel but the pain was very unbearable. I did try something the night i came home, i think it was tylenol, but it didn't help. Good luck!!!

Re: Moms who have/had a cerclage
i had my cerclage done at 14 weeks. it didnt hurt after.
I've also had 2 other cerclages with my other boys. the only pain was when they were trying to take it out in the dr. office. OUCH!!!!! no drugs! they put stuff in there and hands in there and it was NOT fun...so i had to go to the hospital the next day so that they could use hospital eqipment to take it out.
