question for BTDT moms - talk to me about baby carriers...
DH and i went to BBB this weekend to look at carriers for our registry. I like the ERGO since it can also be used on the side, but DH did not like that the ERGO didnt have material between the baby and us. he felt it was less secure. since i want him to use the carrier too, we need to find a compromise.
right now, we have the britax on our registry. does anyone have this?
i also saw the Flip carrier by infantino which looks exactly the same for a lot less money.
i can't find much online about this. Any reviews?
I am debating what to do. Any advice/feedback is greatly appreciated! thanks!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the ergo. Its my favorite. Loved being able to wear her on my back when she got bigger. They are in there pretty secure so i never worried about that. Its comfortable to wear too.

I have the Boba 3g and I love mine. Very similar to the Ergo but I felt it met my requirements just a little better than the Ergo.

Re: question for BTDT moms - talk to me about baby carriers...
I bought an infantino carrier, like the Ergo based on a red from one of the other LIF mamas, I still use it now and DD is 14 months. In the newborn months, because DD was a preemie, she fit better in the Moby wrap. I wore that and did household chores! You can always return it if you find it uncomfortable.

I have the Bjorn - it is similar to the Britax one you linked I think.
I barely used ours.

Re: question for BTDT moms - talk to me about baby carriers...
We have a Boba wrap (like the Moby) and an Ergo...my husband loves the wrap and I love the Ergo...we wear her all the time! I felt like the wrap was hard to put on, but my husband likes how secure he feels she is. The ergo is easy to put on and super comfortable. My dd (3 months) was in it for 5 hours yesterday and we were both comfortable the whole time!

i gave my moby to someone because it made me very uncomfortable and she cried when i put it on. We use the ergo, and she loves it.

I had the Flip by infantino and HATED it. I don't know if it was just me, but it was never comfortable even though I tried adjusting the straps in so many ways. It hurt my back and it seemed like dd was uncomfortable too. I never was able to keep it on for more than 10 minutes or so.

I have the Britax. I've only used it a handful of times, but never had any issues. It's pretty comfy, and DD seems to like it.
It's the only one I have though, so can't compare it to any others.

Something like the ergo which supports the baby's legs all the way to their knees is much better for them. Any of the ones that let their legs dangle or face out aren't great. My vote would be for the ergo! No issues with the baby not being secure.

IMO the Ergo is the best one. It's very supportive for your back and it has the best position for your LOs hips. I cringe when I see people using the Bjorn.

ITA. We have the Ergo and I love it. It's also best for the baby's hips...and your back!

I have a ergo - but DS prefers facing out. Any tips? How old can he be to use the ergo as a backpack?

I have an Ergo, a ring sling and a Boba 3g. The ones like Infantino and that Britax you posted are not good at all for kids. The way they sit in them it can lead to serious hip issues. You don't want them to dangle in a carrier. You want them sitting in them. Most carriers don't have any fabric between you and baby and that's normal. The baby is very secure in there! There are multiple places to adjust and baby should be snug.

The only carrier I know of that lets baby face out is the Becco Gemini and it is not an advised way since baby isn't sitting but again dangling creating hip issues. I would get a ring sling to hip carry easier.

I just received my ergo in the mail today. Once I get the insert and use it I'll let up you know how it is.

Re: question for BTDT moms - talk to me about baby carriers...
I recommend the ergo, too! It is very secure, and comfortable to carry. Plus, the higher weight limit lets you get more use out if it, too. We adopted DS when he was 21 months old. I bought the ergo expecting just to use it to get us through the airport home with him from Korea. ( so we would have our hands free for bags, etc) well... He LOVED it... We used its lot as a comfort thing for him in the beginning.. He will 3 in a couple weeks, and we still use it as a back pack carrier for him when we go on hikes or long walks. Not that often, but it still gets used.

This! i LOVE my Boba 3g. I don't think you can go wrong with either the Ergo or Boba. They are very similar. And the baby is 100% safe even though there is no material between you and the baby. My baby is 14 months and I am still using it.

Infantino flip hurt my back so bad. I sucked it up and spent the extra money on the ergo and I love it!

I bet he'll love facing mommy! But if you want to back carry you can pretty early on.
