Go and rent a scooter from outside agency to save money. We got it for 6 days for $130 and it worked out perfectly. Cutting lines was awesome and necessary. If you are not staying on Disney it will be harder since you may not be able to transport scooter

Even with a scooter, I think you are going to need a tremendous amount of help. Is DH on board with still going? Carrying sleeping kids around, pushing a double stroller, is going to fall 100% on him.

As long as your DR is ok with it.....I'd ride that scooter proudly & enjoy the trip!!!!! No better place to heal, than with a dole whip & some mouse pretzels Chat Icon

Just check the ride limitations, so you are prepared, & any other medical things you need for recovery,

Since your trip is at the end of September I probably wouldn't cancel. At that point you'll be at the 4 or 5 week mark in your recovery. And yes, definitely get the scooter. You can bypass the lines which will be a big help to you, although the lines generally aren't too bad in September.

I feel like people will give me dirty looks since I am sure I will look "healthy".

I am concerned about all the walking. Even when I'm well, I get exhausted walking all day.

I lost a lot of blood, which I believe takes a while to regenerate. I declined a blood transfusion.

Screw that, you see all sorts of people in scooters at Disney! I'm sure some of them are not in the least bit legit. Go and get the scooter and enjoy the trip with your family. If you're staying on property go back to the hotel mid-day to take a break and just take it easy.

If your counts are low up your iron intake, that will help a little.

I had my gallbladder removed back in May - although my surgery was done laproscopically they had some minor issues and my case was a little more difficult than average. By 2wks I felt immensely better - i would say give it some time - it doesn't sound like you are planning a crazy busy trip and don't hesitate to rent a scooter and request guest assistance pass!!

so its a month away....

I had gallbladder surgery - lapro. but I was in so much pain I stayed overnight there... They had me out of work for 2 weeks recovering, and not lifting for a month... I would say go and get the scooter...

Will you dr put any ride restrictions on you? Will you still have fun if your dr limits certain rides or attractions. I would go for it and rent a scooter if needed as long as that doesn't bother you. The only thing that would concern me is even if your dr clears you for rides is if you might be I. Pain from standing will you be in pain bouncing around on rides. Will you still have fun if you get down tbere and then can't ride much. Just thinking how I felt 4-6 weeks after my csections. I would probably go but just be prepared fo those things.
