DISNEY WWYD...7 nights (6 in park) or 6 nights (5 in park)

Is an extra day in the park worth if?

4 1/2yo & 2yo. This is our 1st time, if it matters.

Re: DISNEY WWYD...7 nights (6 in park) or 6 nights (5 in park)

I'm planning 5 nights and 5 days in the parks with my 15 month and 3 yr old ds.

The way I see it, we need two full days for magic kingdom. I'm going to use the first day we get there (half day basically) for Hollywood Studios and do the other two parks on the two other full days, also sneaking in a downtown Disney trip for dinner one night. If I had another day I would probably do downtown Disney on a day of it's own with some other activities like the pool/ hotel things to do. My whole game plan with two toddlers is basically one park a day, nap, dinner- with the exception of one night we'd like to return to magic kingdom for the fireworks and another night where after dinner we'd like to watch the water parade from the hotel.

My frame of reference is sesame with ds1 and after 5 or 6 hours he was 100% done. I'm not looking for meltdowns, so I'm thinking the slower we take it the better and I do not expect to be in any one park for more than 6 hours in a day.

Definitely 7 nights with 6 in the parks - the longer you have the better. I would not want only 5 days unless I go frequently. I say this because:

You will want as much time in the parks as you can get. Since you have younger children you will definitely 100% want that afternoon break. That means you lose park time. If you had older children who could do all day in the park 5 might be okay - but with young kids you want the option if they look tired to say okay lets go swim or nap etc.

I like to have one morning that I don't get up early and rush to the park. We usually go 8 or 9 days - this way one morning we sleep in, swim and don't head to a park until around 3. That would be a good day to do something like MNSSHP. BUT it also gives you the option if your kids are LOVING the MK or EPCOT etc for them to say PLEASE lets go back. When you have only 5 days you really don't have time to go back and do any redo's. That is basically one park a day and MK2 times. I like to have some flexibility - because if it rains hard one day (don't let the rain stop you from hitting the parks great time to go anyway with ponchos - the lines get much shorter) and you have had enough you have that extra day to head back to that park and finish what you didn't get done. Or just in generally maybe the kids were more tired one day but had fun and you want to go back and finish some things you didn't see that is a good time to be able to do that.

Makes sense what's been said....I judt don't know if about $500 more is worth the extra day? Or enjoy our 1st trip & plan for longer as they get older.

When will you go back? 1 year? 2? 3? I think if you are going back in a year 5 is enough but if you won't go back for say 2-3 maybe you want to do the extra day. FM me I could suggest some things to maybe cut that $500.

I think it totally is. For sure. But 6 nights is fine too if you prefer that.

Put it this way...I have my whole itinerary made up and I am running short even with 6 days and 6 nights. I def have to skip some things and not sure how much pool time we will get in.

Re: DISNEY WWYD...7 nights (6 in park) or 6 nights (5 in park)

Since my youngest will only be 2 for the trip & my oldest 4 1/2, I'm sure they will be asking for the next few years to go. So I'm thinking this might be annual or AT THE MOST EVERYOTHER.

As they get older I think we might consider other resorts for a little less, but maybe more bus travel. We seem to like what the Poly has to offer, especially with such young kids. I'm so new to ALL THIS...so please let me know if I'm viewing this wrong.

I am staying at the Poly too. First time there but have stayed at the Contemporary, another monorail hotel, in the past. I love the MK monorail hotels the best...

I think it's fine, if you really think you will go every year or two.
