baby gates
when did you put up the baby gates?
DS is 4.5 months, I assume they will need to be up when he starts crawling??
We have a split with many stairs (and stairs that can't take a standard gate) so I want to have special ones installed in 2 places. Trying to figure out when we should have this done!

I'd do it sooner rather than later--he could take off crawling before yiu know it!!

DS just mastered crawling at 10 months so this past weekend we put up the gates, since he goes crazy when we put him into a PNP or into his walker toy... I also live in a split and put gates by the stairs, but he is able to now roam free in the living room (I moved the coffee table though).

They started crawling around 8 mo so we use a play yard and pnp now. No gates yet. I might just get a play yard for the LR for now. My house is oddly shaped and small so its hard to gate.

we gated as we needed it...around 6 - 7 months we started and by 11 months the whole house was gated lol. First started with the room we spent the most time and then eventually the whole house as DS became more active.
